Oxford United 2-1 Coventry City Friendly August 1990

Post by PentaxWidget »

I kindly got a quick answer to my last question but can anyone help with this one??

I am looking for each goalscorer (home and away) and the attendance - any ideas?

You can look up details (including scorers, attendances etc) of all matches, including friendlies, on the stats section of this very website.

Here's the answer to your current question (although it was 1-0, not 2-1)

EDIT - just seen that actually neither the scorer nor the attendance is given - oops! Still, you might want to use this database for any other similar queries you may have...

Womble - don't you keep such records? I think you used to but perhaps that did not apply to friendlies.

Who scored Coventry's winner that day? I'm sure I saw that match
that ended in a 0-1 defeat.

I was definitely there that day, but have absolutely no idea how the game finished. The only thing I remember was the Coventry keeper (Ogrizovich?) doing star jumps on the edge of his area whilst the ball was at the other end, with the LRT giving a cheer at each one. Oggie then faked a jump, the crowd gave a cheer, and he wagged his finger at them.

Odd the things you remember isn't it...

The closest he came to scoring was at the baseball ground at the end of the season we were relegated when he slid in and could ot miss only to hit the outside of the post.

Insider information allows me to reveal that under Horton, he was always under strict instructions to stay back. I believe that, soon after moving to Stevenage, he scored a 30 yard screamer. It is just that managerial tactics at Oxford limited his opportunities to have a go. On the other hand, I am sure I saw him score an own goal once.

Does anyone remember the &quotooh ahh CantoSmart, say ooh ahh CantoSmart&quot chant?

Also, does anyone remember the Garry Smart wager? What was it exactly again?
