Mmm, it all started well enough but developed into a clusterfuck of Lee-like proportions which, in fairness, Scooter alluded to in his first post!

Actually, Scooter reduced his chances by only predicting 10 scores without naming the teams and even though I tried a couple of ways for him (by comparing his predictions against the first 10 results and then against the last 10) the best he got was 4.

The top four in the 1st round were Sideshow (17), Parklife (16), Geoff (14) and Boris (12) with no TB required.

In the play-off 1st leg Boris and Geoff scored 4 and Parklife and Sideshow scored a maximum 8 each.

In the 2nd leg Boris and Geoff each scored 2 which meant they couldn't catch Parklife and Sideshow which was just as well as those two both cocked up completely! Parklife only named 4 teams for the 5 places and didn't number them with positions, and Sideshow numbered his 5 selections but went 19-23 and included Grays when the instructions were to ignore them and predict 18-22!

Anyway, Parklife and and Sideshow progress to the Final which was the attendance WITHOUT GOING OVER! Guess what! They both went over!

What to do?

As I didn't make a contingency for this I'm inclined to award 0.5 point each
and they race each other to set the new Boot, although there may be a case for awarding it to Parklife for being nearest. I think I'll refer this to Mally 'Colin Peake' Mallinson to adjudicate ...

Thanks Hog!! I wasn't sure what you meant about Colin Peake so I did some background research and found this description on an Altrncham forum:
&quotThe epitome of self-centred, bias, bigotted, two-faced, back-stabbing, sh*t-shovelling, muck-raking, underhanded skullduggery, chicanery and sh*thousery.&quot

The poster went on to say :
&quotI truly hope that FGR finish fourth bottom at the end of the season and his subsequent monkey-tricks and attempts to build cases against other clubs fail to save them. It's about time some other league had a basinful of him don't you think?&quot

I bet he's feeling chuffed to little mint balls or whatever it is they say up there.

Anyway back to the decision. Half a point each would be one way out of the problem but that would be one that favours Hog as Parklife is a key contender for the title, so I think the only fair decision is a full point for Parklife for being closest to the crowd on the tie break. Particularly as the &quotclusterfuck&quot was one of Hog's own making.

Oops! My Colin Peake reference was to the fact that he is renowned for knowing the rules inside out, but now I've seen your adjudication I think the quote you've found is nearer the mark because there was nothing in the rules to say closest is the winner, the point being not to go over, thus the two finalists have not been seperated by the rules and should therefore share the point! The award to Parklife appears to be purely arbitary and designed only to penalise me for being the current leader!

 Crack on Parky! (I think I'm feeling the pressure now!)
