Wycombe hat

Post by Mooro »

Not sure we do these or not, but just in case i) we do and ii) I fail to make it into the office again tomorrow (quite likely), then here goes....

On a high from making the League cup QF, Wycombe turn on the style to comprehensively beat their non-league counterparts.
Tommy Mooney scores twice to put the home side into a commanding position, then just to give his old club a chance, nods one into his own net as well.
Cant be bothered looking up capacities etc, but I'll say 10,850 total, 850 declared Oxford (plus many more causing trouble in the home seats).

UE - Wycombe forget their kit and have to borrow shirts from supporters.
UE2 - The winners face a 2nd round tie against a team placed lower than their first round opponents.

Well, I missed the last FA cup one as I assumed they were excluded. And what does &quotassume&quot make?

Wycombe 1 - 1 - Oxford
Mooney - Anaclet
6500, 1500
UE: Due to an electrical fault, the spotlights flash on and off throughout the match. No-one is sure if this a reason to abandon the game.

Them 1 (Mooney) Us 4 (Basham, Burgess, Yemi, Duffer)

Att : 7777 with 1843 of Us

UE : When we score the fourth goal Jim Smith leaves his technical area, races across the pitch and does monkey tricks on the crossbar in front of the Oxford fans. Meanwhile Nick Merry runs down from the Directors Box in pursuit and does cartwheels around the edge of the 18 yard box. Peter Rhodes-Brown appears to be unimpressed at these media antics and as a consequence sulks even more than he usually does when something goes right and it’s not down to him.

Well, we’re on a roll and who could forget that magic moment when we won 0-3 at Wycombe a long, long time ago..

Them 2 Us 1 - Mooney 2, Duffy

Att: 6500 with 1865 yellows (at least in the right end)

UE: Shamed by their appalling behaviour, all Oxford fans with tickets for the home stands hand themselves into the police and ask to be incarcerated with immediate effect.

Furniture manufacturers 1 Car manufacturers 2

Mooney, Duffy, Turley

Att: 6,781 including 1,560 from the Beamer garage.

UE: Mooney scores with his arse, Duffy scores with his cast and Turley scores from a clearance.

A ring of steel is placed around the embankment to prevent cheapskates watching the game (actually the stand probably prevents that now doesn't it?).

The queue for the tea bar is not 50 long.

Exiting from the car park and industrial estate turns out to be fast and easy.

Fast Eddie from Oxford plays guitar before the match. Fast Eddie from Motorhead plays left wing back for United.

GY - Can see the Fast Eddie one happening, Motorhead are playing in Oxford on Sunday and at previous shows Fast Eddie has always shown a particular apitude for shimmying and running around the stage whilst avoiding the central defender-esque Lemmy.
