Do they now get bumped down to BSN with a reprieve for Woking?
Administration
There are plenty of fellow forumites whose knowledge of these things is far greater than mine, so please correct me if there are errors here....I guess one way of looking at this is how, if at all, Chester's situation is different from Boston's. In the latter case, it seems from what I can find that that it was not going into administration per se that led to the double relegation, but the CVA and inability to pay "football creditors". Is it therefore the case that whether or not Chester face the same thing (assuming those at Conference HQ are capable of applying the rules even-handedly) will depend on the terms of the administration? Or is there something about the administration process I am not understanding (which is more than possible)? Specifically (from an old piece on the BBC website):
The terms of the Company Voluntary Liquidation entered into by Boston to go into administration, are behind the club's demotion.
Moules said: "The Inland Revenue put a caveat on that CVA that Boston could not pay football creditors.
"That breaks Football Association, Football League and Football Conference rules and regulations.
Thus, given that most clubs entering administration do not go down two divisions, I would only expect Chester to do so if they have put in place a similar arrangement to this.......

My understanding of the Boston situation (and again, it could be flawed because I can't be arsed to do my research properly atm) is that they were initially put into the Conf North because they were in admin, but they were then demoted into the Unibond, or whatever it's called, because either they exited admin without entering into a CVA, or they didn't pay their football creditors first, or summat.
Mind you, I think the decision to demote Boston as far as they did was as much spite for the way they cheated their way out of the Conf as for what they did wrong in administration. Not that Chester's owner is any more loveable than Boston's were, but it would be naive to assume that politics paid no part in any of the decision making.

It's a shame we can't just be 'elected' to replace them these days."Boogie" wrote:An Omen?

Each BSP club gets £85k excluding match fees from Setanta. Obviuosly losing this money would have the greatest impact on the smallest clubs since it would account for a bigger proportion of their turnover."Boogie" wrote:Potential meltdown in Scotland. How might Sentanta's problems impact the BSP?

Re:
Apparently the appeal yesterday overturned the decision. It still doesn't mean they are safe though because they've still got to have a CVA in place by the AGM."Snake" wrote:Vics thrown out of the Blue Square, pending an appeal!
