Good, seeing that I'd prefer not to see them go up (and the resultant hoardes going onto TIU claiming they'd said we should have made him manager last summer)
It wasn’t just the hordes on TiU, it was Westley himself doing the pushing.

Fill Us in with the details Brahma Bull, ‘cos last year is history now and hardly anyone reads this I-board.

Nearly every game if not all at this level has someoine filming them.

Just cos it is not possible to rectify errors in all circs should not be a reason not to rectify any at all. I can see pressure on the ref being a problem.
Ah, so you're coming round to Brian Lee's way of thinking then ...?

Not at all. Where it is possible to rectify I would. Two entirely different situations.

I though that there were a small number on TIU who thought that Westley was the right man (maybe the hordes thought that Patterson was not working out and needed replacing).

To be fair after a poor start Stevenage have done very well and Westley has done a pretty good job.

You've hit the nail on the head. I prefer the &quotlevel playing field&quot approach.

I prefer the level playing field approach too, but having played at the Manor for many years we can't shout too loudly about this.

I love Brabin's post match comments
&quotI thought we dominated the game for 120 minutes. We footballed them to death and I'm absolutely delighted because they couldn't get near us.&quot

Surely the &quotlevel playing field approach&quot would mean leaving things as they are and letting the referee(s) make the decisions as they go in every game, not relying on video pictures which would vary in quality and quantity at each ground.

Surely the only &quotfair&quot way of using video during a game would be after each contentious decision? I can see real health and safety issues with a ref (and perhaps his/her two assistants) climbing a vertical ladder in muddy football boots to access the tv gantry at some of the more basic stadia in our league. And what would happen if he got stuck in the lift at The United stadium?

Let me think - 4th (5th?) official. Radio link to ref. Rugby. Cricket. Modern technology? Nah, let's turn the clock back - jumpers for goalposts.

To be even fairer, if we’d employed Westley at the start of the season we’d be buying tickets for Wembley now. And not for the play-offs, but for the FA Trophy Final as we’d have already won the league given the amount of money we have to spend compared to other clubs.

Don’t get me wrong, Wilder is a fantastic manager at this level – the mistake was in giving Patto the job in the first place.
