Sudbury match report
Re: Sudbury match report
And we'll never know how many were Oxford fans as there was only one set of turnstiles and no segregation.

The Management seem to be bigging up the FA Trophy as a source of revenue but given that the average crowd (home or away) will be 1000ish, could someone explain why? If we progress past our next opponents, we will sacrifice a Saturday league game for a FAT game and the league game will be moved to a Tuesday. I reckon that the net profit on the FAT game will be less than the loss of revenue due to the move to a Tuesday.
Unless we get to Wembley in which case we might break even?.....

If we get drawn at home and get a crowd of 2500 then that's about £30,000 revenue. A switch from Saturday to Tuesday wouldn't mean anything like that loss. If we were to get to Wembley then the pay-off would certainly mean a lot more than breaking even."Radley Rambler" wrote:The Management seem to be bigging up the FA Trophy as a source of revenue but given that the average crowd (home or away) will be 1000ish, could someone explain why? What was all this "It's their cup final" rubbish? They got over 500 for a league game against Leamington in October.
Re: Sudbury match report
I am not saying for one moment that the crowd figure was not accurate."Mally" wrote:What was all this "It's their cup final" rubbish? They got over 500 for a league game against Leamington in October.
But:
It was very difficult to tell how many were in the ground.
There was not as far as I recall any counters on the turnstile.
Cash was handed over & no tickets given out.

Re:
That's a very big 'if'. We got 1,500 last year for our only home tie, and our average home attendances this season are 500 down on last season. Yes we got 2,600 against Halifax in the 2nd round 2 years ago, but our average home gate that year was in excess of 6,000! Those were the days..."Mally" wrote:If we get drawn at home and get a crowd of 2500

Re: Sudbury match report
Indeed. Presumably they must have had more home fans in for their league game against Bury Town last week, when the attendance was 376."Mally" wrote:What was all this "It's their cup final" rubbish? They got over 500 for a league game against Leamington in October.

Re:
Depends who we draw of course, but in a worst case scenario we’d be away again with another sub-1000 gate up North."Mally" wrote:If we get drawn at home and get a crowd of 2500 then that's about £30,000 revenue. Even at home we’d be lucky to get 2,000 against say, Wrexham, and then the away team would take 40% of the gate.
And would the club charge full price for the game or offer some sort of discount?
