No! As I posted elsewhere, a thug devoid of talent. Surely his recent track record should rule him out of even superficial consideration. File under WPB..... oh, and he missed the closing date.

I credit Kelvin and co with more nous than to take him on. 4 points from the last 30, what did Darren achieve in his last 10 games - considerably more.

Cotterill for me - experienced and been there/done it at this level.

Hopefully &quotand co&quot are advisors rather than decision makers.

Big mates with Jim Smith, according to Setanta the other night. Wasn't he on Smith's coaching staff at Derby or something?

Think he was caretaker manager at Derby before Jim took over in 1995 and stayed there on the staff ...

interesting times at mansfield: http&#58//news&#46bbc&#46co&#46uk/sport ... 280&#46stm

i've never been convinced that the situation where players are asked to manage their ex-team mates will work (that said, i guess southgate has managed the transition from team mate to boss well), so current team mates seems even stranger. and again, i'm intrigued by the fact that mansfield are explicitly going for a management duo.

It occurs to me nobody's put John Sitton's name forward yet. Is it too late to add him to the shortlist?
