patterson has to go tonight, patterson out now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Thamensian »

Enough is enough. Just got back after being thoroughly embarassed at Lewes for the second year in a row.
He man has now had far too long, two years as part of the management set up, whose tenure has been at best totally embarassing, destroying us as a club.
Unless merry acts this weekend, he should consider his commitment to the club.
smith is not the answer, and eternal failure lewis is also not the answer. He has already been a disaster as manager, a while back.

I think you've mistaken this for TIU.

I don't want to be an apologist for Patterson, Lewis , but if we are getting rid of them can we be sure that we are in a position to get someone better in.

The threat of administration, inability to sign new players etc, is hardly an enticing prospect for a new manager. Even a Premiership Club like Newcastle has been forced to scrape the barrel, with the appointment of Kinnear, so who are we likely to get?

Exactly.

Is Patterson on a contract ? Or is it one of those rolling month on month deals?
If it is the latter getting rid will be so much easier and should free up the money he is being paid for someone else. But this is OUFC and we know whoever we get in will make no difference whatsoever.

Sorry, have I missed something here, should I not give an opinion, or is it where the pattonistas have retired to, to work on the spin, for the last few hours of their gods reign.

Therefore tell me what the protcols are for posting. Do I doff my cap to the computer, prior to doing three hell marys, then gently pressing on the keys of the keyboard, as I light my pipe, slip on the and slippers, opening up the sanatogen. Of course all prior to disabling the following keys on the keyboard: P A T _ E R S O N _ U _ !

Errrr - no one has said they love Patterson have they?
And of course you are entitled to your opinion.
But who do you think he should be replaced with given we have no cash to flash?
It's very easy to say what is wrong but suggesting practical solutions is altogether something more taxing on the brain. I wish I could think of a workable answer.

That would be perfectly in order.

But what was going to go with the slippers?

Too right this isn't the TIU. There they have taken off the rose tinted specs, and can see the repeated damage patterson has done over the last two years.

As to who would take it. There are managers of smaller clubs that have served apprentiships and would jump at the chance and managers who are curently out of work who would love a job.

There are people who are out there that should have been approached or invited to apply for the post, rather than seemingly giving it to someone who was promised it, namely patterson, in the style of the old boys network. Managers such as Greame Westly, Leroy Rosenior, Hessentalar, Martin Allen, Nigel Clough, Cooper at Kettering, Steve King, the list goes on.

Of course we all have the right to our opinion, and it would be great to hear the views of more contributors on this issue.

I would prefer not to be described as a Pattonista if I express an opinion but perhaps all those years of overdosing on Sanatogen and cruising around on my free bus pass has made me unduly sensitive.

The only realistic alternative to Patterson is probably the 3rd coming of Jim Smith or the elevation of Mickey Lewis.

Will either of these options be an improvement? Who knows?

lewis was a disaster the last time he had the chance to manage oxford. As when smith left and patterson took over, allowing lewis to have another go would be equally as disasterous as pattersons reign.

Indeed it would be but I bet you a pound to a piece of sh*t that one or other will get the job if patto goes.........

I really do not know what the answer is, and I would not want to be the one to make the decision....but I will be applying if the job comes up.

Patto is less than two months into his first full season. Surely the one thing that Oxford fans should have learned by now is that constantly changing manager does not bring success. We need some stability, and Patto needs to be given longer to work with the squad, or are we going to change manager every time we hit a poor patch - that'll be four or five bosses a season. See you in the Southern League...

All opinions welcome as far as I know. Could you let me have yours regarding NM and IL?

Both have either bitten off more than they could chew, or underestimated the financial burden they were taken on.
