Re: Accrington Stanley? Exactly!

Ahead of the game, some were optimistic about our chances, after good performances against Stevenage & Luton, and the fact that we were playing a team low on confidence after 5 straight defeats, but I was wary of the fact that Stanley's luck had to change sometime, plus all of our visits to the ...

Re: Accrington Stanley? Exactly!

The weather forecast up north is not as bad as previously stated for tonight, so wrap up warm, and join us Oxford Exiles at the Crown Ground. Will Monsieur Balmy make his debut? Will John Coleman fall on his sword? Will striker Mullins do it again?

Accrington Stanley? Exactly!

There appears to be a gap in the away match section for Tuesday night's fixture at the Crown Ground (or whatever it's called this month!) on the club's website. Plenty about Burton & Pompey, but nowt about Accy. Is the London Rd coach travelling up North? So at the moment it may just be me &...

Re: Up for the Cup

So how many Yellows are we expecting in the Cowshed on Tuesday night? Very tempted, partly to see our team selection up front!

Re: Football League Show

The most annoying thing about the FLS is when it doesn't appear at all, simply because the Championship have a weekend off. I much prefer SKY's FL72 Review programme, broadcast from the SKY staff canteen!

...and c) Not cup tied! Reckon that leaves just Ashby & Humphreys to play up front at Tranmere next week? Barnett will be back at Peterbrough, and is Hylton injured? Now if we had a defender like Harry Worley who enjoys playing up front, then it may be worth going to Prenton Park for the novelty...

Re: Up for the Cup

The draw is on BBC2 between 7 and 730. Lots of padding first, as is the norm now on TV, so probably the actual draw will begin about 720!?! As long as we get a decent incentive ahead of the replay. Certainly don't want Sheffield Utd away!

Re: The ‘Price of Football’ Report

The one plus point at the Kastad is the free parking. I don't know of any other team that does this, so I've got to know a lot of side streets around the country over the years!

Re: The ‘Price of Football’ Report

My son & I went to watch Altrincham last month as they were playing Eastleigh. It was £14 on the day to stand (£15 if we wanted to sit). Programme was £2.50. As usual I didn't get a pie as I tend to eat lunch at lunch time, not 3 or 4 o'clock in the afternoon! (The only exception is Morecambe wh...

Re: Managerial Merry-go-round

It will be interesting to see who York and Tranmere appoint next. And how long they take to decide. What are the odds on Appleton going before Saturday? And if we lose to Tranmere, how the odds will change over the weekend!

So Nigel Worthington has now chosen to fall on his sword. What will be the fall out after this Saturday's game at the Kassam?!

Re: I wasn’t there, Jerome.

I would love our 'pretty' football to succeed, but what's the point in all this patient build up in getting the ball from Clarke to a winger, who then sends it in hope, rather than precision, high towards the penalty area, if we've only got one player there? Now if we had a Peter Crouch sized target...

Can't imagine it's someone currently employed like Tisdale or Beattie 'cos that would cost us some cash.
Don't want Waddock or Harford.
Why not David Rush, or some other left-field candidate.
Whatever the outcome, I hope he can inspire us to win at Southend on Monday in front of the SKY cameras...

Re: Welcome to the Minchery madhouse Mad Dog

On the theme of the team being together, what was the reason that Kitson walked straight off at the end yesterday, while the rest gathered in the middle before applauding the fans? We must remember that IL is primarily in charge of Wigan Warriors, who are a bigger club than us I'm afraid. You need t...

Re: Bury the opposition

I'd like to see O'Dowda back his own ability and get behind the full back and get the cross over. On a few occasions last night he got the ball in really good positions started to make the run but checked himself and laid it off.. There appears to be the making of a half decent player in there but ...
