Re: Where are they now?
That looks like Dean Saunders to me, which would make sense from a Welsh perspective, but their OUFC careers could only have overlapped while Anthony Wright was in the youth team.

Re: Wem-Ber-Lee!
If I'm being greedy I would have liked a 3rd goal, all our chances fell to our best player, Murphy and on another day he might have scored 5 or 6. I was at the Gillingham v Man City play-off game in 98 when Gillingham scored 2 in the last 10 minutes but then Man City got 2 in injury time and I was v...

Wem-Ber-Lee!
I felt we were fairly comfortable until the last 10 minutes against Peterborough, a bit like the first leg. That last 10 minutes (particularly the throw-in that went across the face of goal in the last seconds) took a few years off my life expectancy. Difficult to argue against saying Peterborough a...

Re: play-off run in
Pretty straightforward in the end wasn't it.... ok, perhaps not, it's difficult to concentrate on our game while also considering others, but I thought first half we were excellent, 2nd half much less so but actually we handled the last 10/15 minutes reasonably well. We have a fighting chance in the...

Re: play-off run in
It's clearly not over, we're 11/8 to get into the play-offs according to the bookies, so a bit less than a 50% chance. Could definitely argue we've missed our best chance to do it though, either a win against Stevenage or a draw against Lincoln probably would have done it. It doesn't feel like we ha...

Re: Fylde under big week
ifollow for me against Wigan. The 1st half was very poor, Dale and Long down the right hand side looked like they'd never met, let alone done any training together. Fair play to Long though, he recovered reasonably well in the 2nd half. I dread to think about the amount of booing there'd have been i...

Fylde under big week
My 3rd in person game of the season, decent weather for Blackpool given it was the middle of Feb and I am always bewildered by Blackpool, it's such a strange place - feels like a big city of run-down small shops and b&b's. Football wise, a more promising performance against a side you'd expect (...
Re: Gas-tly
There were a lot of complaints about lack of a plan on Radio Oxford after the game, which leads to criticism of the manager but I'm pretty sure the plan was the same as the game at Carlisle, get the ball into the feet if Rodrigues/Goodrham, then play from there. Not necessarily a great plan, admitte...

Great Border City
My most local fixture - we had a good amount of fans there, probably a large percentage being exiles but the atmosphere was good even when we didn't start that well. Sadly I don't think we'll be in the same league next season as Carlisle look in a fair amount of trouble. I usually drive to this game...

Re: outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked
maybe the club are reading this forum (although obviously we're not the only ones complaining). Anyway, this is better from the club. https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/2024/january/tim-williams/ Buried in there is the news the Chris Hackett, former wing speed-merchant is our new assistant. Seems reasonabl...

Re: outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked
It's strange/worrying isn't it? On the face of it things are going well, our average attendance is higher than it's ever been, league position wise I don't think we've been better than this is 25 years, but off the pitch it's a bit more concerning. The lack of an assistant manager still is odd - Buc...

Re: Oh, Biscuits
Much better against a team who admittedly were very poor and low on confidence. Signs that Buckingham might be a bit more attacking than Manning was, seemed like a vintage Robinson set up with Brannagan further forward and the wingers very much out wide and two full backs who weren't centre halves r...

Re: Painful Posh Pummelling
Ridiculously harsh to lay this at the door of Buckingham given he's been here 3 weeks or so - he speaks relatively similarly to Manning which is no surprise given he's had a similar career history. Ultimately, if you lose it doesn't matter what you say afterwards. This season we've never been a team...

Completely bazooka'd
A deserved defeat. The first 15 minutes were reminiscent of the Stevenage game where we were getting battered and struggled. The difference was against Stevenage we had Long, Moore and Brown as our centre halves and eventually they got to grips with it, whereas here we had Negru and Thorniley and th...

Re: Liam Managing
Disappointing decision from Manning to scarper at the first half decent opportunity. The statement on the OWS suggests the club are annoyed with him, having given him (supposedly) a very good budget, the assistant/coaches/analysts he wanted, they probably reasonably expected he'd stay longer than 6 ...
