Re:
Dopey thinking by someone re anticipated pre season revenues though. So does that mean you asked why the projection was so wide of the mark at the meeting with the club? If so what was the answer and who was the dopey thinker? I think that at the time of the April 07 presentation it was anticipated...

Re:
Veteran managers tend to prefer veteran players. Veteran players tend also to be more expensive.... To be fair Jim seems to have gone the other way now - most the players brought in after November last season and this season are of a younger age. I'm very worried about the financial situation at th...

Re:
Veteran managers tend to prefer veteran players. Veteran players tend also to be more expensive.... I think that's a poor argument. EG Sir Alex Ferguson and 'Colin' Warnock are veteran managers. And they like using young lads don't they? ps I guess you all know why Mr Warnock is known as 'Colin'?

Re:
What needs to be done for the club to break even on an ongoing basis? We need to increase turnover and decrease expenditure. Sounds obvious I know, but that's what it comes down to. We need to smash the notion that big spending equates with success. It doesn't work as we saw last season. This is th...

Re: Burgess gone
Agreed. His salary was busting the wage cap. Always enjoyed watching Burgess. I bet we had to pay him a chunk to go as R and D are (relatively) potless."Hog" wrote:I can understand the reasoning but I can't help feeling a little disappointed.

Re: Eastleigh reflections
Yawn, yawn, yawn. Smith and Patto must now know (like the rest of us already did) that Duffy and Marv are not a workable combination. With a choice between Standing and Corc, I would take Standing. With out Yemi we have no cut. Without Burge we have no flair. We have no effective width. Day is soli...

This is going to make watching Oxford a very strange and annoying experience. Does anyone know how much money we are getting out of this deal, being by far the biggest team in the division we are going to get mucked about far more than most teams and if they start moving Sat home games I will consi...

I can confirm that in addition to 75% voting rule, on a separate basis 50% of non connected creditors also have to approve in an insolvency vote. Bates has obviously got sway with some big, non connected creditors. The law therefore allows redress for non connected creditors if they feel they have b...

Re:
In reply to Mooro's last post. Unfortunately, that isn't quite how it works. The administrators' job is to find the best offer available for the creditors and the club, and put that offer to the creditors to vote yes or no. It is entirely down to the creditors which way they vote. The administrator...

Re:
You can't break the law just to get the best price for creditors though. As you will know well also. 75% || of the shareholders || creditors are controlled by Bates. 75% || is whats needed to usually swing things through in company law. And in insolvency legislation. There is no section in the inso...

Re:
It looks like Bates is going to get away with his improved offer of an unconditional 8p in the £. In fairness to the administrators, they were between a rock and a hard place. Football League said unless Leeds pay their creditors in full, or get an unconditional cva agreement, then the Football Lea...

Re:
It IS still a bag of shite - as the administrators do not appear to be able (or want) to hold an open, honest and transparent sale of the club with all bidders on an equal footing. Whether they are in cahoots with Bates, or running scared of his threats of court action (and the costs to either them...

Re: Pre-season friendlies
Good to see the club have dropped the prices for these games to a sensible level. The opposition are fairly uninspiring as a supporter, so that perhaps explains the price reduction. I might actually go to the games now, whereas previously I was thinking of missing them out. Although the pre-season ...

Re:
The Tevez saga reeks as well as Mooro points out. I would hope that if Tevez ends up playing for ManUre or indeed any other club than West Ham next season, unless West Ham recieve the transfer fee, that West Ham get relegated and Sheffield United get a reprieve. We know the suits won't have the bal...
