Re: The C-word
I can’t deny that the longer we go without following WHO advice, the more nervous I get about the UK approach. It’s not just about herd immunity though, it is about timing the advice to gain maximum benefit and avoid social fatigue amongst other issues. There are times when certainty is so important...

Re: The C-word
Italy tested everyone coming in on planes and it did them no good. They have been aggressively testing as many as possible. The result has been over 6% mortality in Italy, compared to just over 1% in the UK. Testing won't stop the spread, because by the time people show symptoms, they will already ...

Re: Freefall
Excellent results for us last night as well. Still I'm going to enjoy being third while I can - a fantastic effort from Robbo and the boys. When I was posting earlier on this thread, I hoped we could turn it around, but was not expecting the upturn in form we have seen of late. What I certainly did...
Re: Freefall
Cheers Slappy, will do.
Re: Freefall
I thought that too Slappy, until I looked a little closer. There are 3 tiers of parachute payments. The first year is the highest and the third year the lowest. The top 6 includes Leeds, Forest, Brentford, Preston, none of whom presently receive parachute payments. Positions 7 - 10 includes Bristol ...
Re: Freefall
Well that was a good result last night. OK it was against AFC Wimbledon who are in 20th place. But scoring five goals from three different scorers and apparently plenty of chances must give the squad a bit of a boost. Especially as the Dons came here on the back of a draw against Rotherham. Play th...

Ipswich away?recordmeister wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 12:09 pm Famous last words, but we *should* win at least 5 of our next 6 games, if not all of them. If we do, we are really in with a chance.
Re: Freefall
I don't think there is any lack of ambition by Robbo or the board. Robbo has said many times that funds are available. There needs to be players available to sign, in positions we need, that are better than those we have. I would encourage the board not to overspend on players that cannot be afford...
Re: Freefall
I also don’t have a problem with stability - I’ve said several time that it’s been an enjoyable season and I’m happy that we’re at the right end of the table. But various members of the Board have said on various occasions that the aim is to become an established Championship club. Yes, but not nec...

Re: Freefall
Otmoor - that can help explain Blackburn and Wigan - although the other examples I have given also confirm really bad management cannot be addressed simply with PL money. But the main point I was making was that neither Rotherham nor Peterborough have enjoyed the PL riches - just the additional wea...
Re: Freefall
Money has created a massive gulf between the 1st and 2nd divisions of English football. I am concerned that what we are now seeing is the impact of money opening up a gap between 2nd and 3rd. We have seen, in recent years, teams like Blackburn and Wigan come down but bounce straight back (I would a...

Re: Bapxit Day
On Fosu, I wonder if he was concerned about being kicked up in the air every week with League One refs doing nothing about it. I'm a bit more surprised about Baptiste, as I think he will soon be Prem League material, and also, I certainly don't see Brentford as being a bigger club than us. With some...
