Re: Fax Boot

Ok no sign of Zeke and I don't understand why he has it and not me when I was clearly closer to the number of Oxford fans in attendance but hey ho I'll adjust the boot table. Cascade: Result Score Does Marv score? Does Yemi score? First oxford player subbed. Tie break: Total attendance. Win 2-0 to ...

Re: Altering 'em boot

NOT a cascade - most correct wins: How many goals will we score? How many goals will they score? Who will start up front (1, 2 or 3 names) for Oxford? What position will be in the table on Saturday evening? Tie breaker - away attendance (please also give total attendance in case away attendance fig...

Re:

Is it feasible (possible?) to sign some of these graduating scholars and loan them out to other local teams for a season to see how they develop? That way they wont count against the wage cap (or not much) and we can retain their rights for a further year to see if they are worthy of further invest...

Re:

Well, I don't think he &quotspearheaded&quot our return to what was then the championship, though unquestionably he played well that season (as he subsequently did with Jemson). I also think that he went missing in a lot of games in his second spell and was living off his reputation long bef...

Re:

Joey - first time around brilliant, second time around brilliant. Apart from all the times he wasn't. Like when he was coming to the end of his time at Oxford being left on the bench by the likes of Kemp/Wright - can you blame him? He spearheaded our return to the championship and then in a pretty ...

Re:

I wouldn't change the manager now - of course not. But at the end of the season Smith should move upstairs. Even if we go up? With all the player changes I think this will be a excellent achievement and he will be able to attract better players in the league. Who would attract players to the club J...

Re:

Shotton - first time around - Tremendous. Second time around it all went horribly wrong. Jemmo - First time around - Quality. Second time around, as much use as Anthrobus. Hughie Curran - First time around - Top international striker. Second time around, an old has been cripple. Bobby Ford - First ...

The reason we're in this position is because we keep changing manager. There are aspects of Smith's management that frustrate me but we're second in the league with a few games left. A possible Wembley final beckons and although I'll be gutted if we don't go up lets start worrying about it then, thi...

A little harsh considering that when they were on together I can't remember getting one decent ball into the box. The service they recieved was hopeless, everytime Gilly Turley of Rufus got it they lumped it up to them, sometimes they won the header (well at least Duffy did) sometimes they didn't at...

Problem is we haven't got many fast attacking players who have the ability to do something with the ball once they have beaten the man and IF they beat their man. Players like this are few and far between nowadays as clubs don't play with wingers and when a player does come up, like Ronaldo, they ar...

Re:

Agree, though, that it would be an act of supreme petulence on Smith's part to leave Duffer out. Not necessarily. It all depends on Duffer's attitude in training since Saturday. If Smith thinks Duffy isn't in a fit state to play then he really has no option. Of course if he leaves him out simply as...

cascade: 1. result (oxwin/draw/oxloss)? 2. score? 3. will duffy: start/be on the bench/not make the squad? 4. how many yellow cards will be shown (both teams)? 5. how many points will there be between us and the third placed team after tuesday night's games? tie-breaker: 6. crowd. Draw 1-1 Start, i...

Re:

It's all relative isn't, on paper losing at home to Marlow and FGR are about as bad as it gets but Marlow were leagues below us wheras FGR are in the same league and on a decent run of form. The Marlow game was away. Yes fine I got FGR and Marlow the wrong way round - thanks for pointing that out!

I thought Burgess did ok some of his lay offs were first class although he could do with beating the first defender - hes never going to be the type to take someone on. I couldn't beleive Smith taking Duffy off and his comments after the game. Everytime we got a free kick/corner FGR were kicking/pus...

Performace wise I'd say nothing beats Rushden away, before the game I was talking about a push to get to the ...
