Re: Consistency
I don't understand all this talk of a Phoenix club. I had quite enough of watching Oxford in division 5 let alone below that. This is our club, the one with the history and we should be doing we can to ensure we survive and prosper. I've had enough of us being used as a bit player in property deal ...

Re: Consistency
That's a decent point - it was a couple of years later that Wimbledon showed the way, wasn't it? Even so, there are enough good examples by now that IF (that's "IF", Mr Pollard) we get relegated and it all goes financially tits up, I think the time and effort should be expended on startin...

Re: Consistency
It would be interesting to know whether OxVox have discussed the what ifs of relegation. In its current form I don't think it'd be equipped to lead a a rising phoenix. But then things change quicker than you'd imagine when a proper crisis hits. What I'm not enjoying is OxVox's continued silence over...

Re: TRANSFERS...
Good luck Giogrio Rasulo, who instantly makes his way into OUFC's all time list of best named players. Prove the doubters wrong, but understand cynicism is running high for some very sound reasons.
Now we just need OUFC4ever to get Google Image searching, in time-honored fashion.

Re: Consistency
Relegation to the conference carries a serious risk of the club going under. That must be recognised.

Re: Going for a Burton
For the first time in many years I'm calling for our manger's head. If the board want to save face and save MApp's career they can always leave him as Head Coach and bring in a Director of Football or First Team Manager, or the like, to do the real managing. We need someone who knows the league and ...

Re: Consistency
I really didn't understand the desire to get rid of Wilder for the months leading up to his departure. By the time he left it was a relief, not so much because the team was performing badly, but because the relationship between him and the fans had become pretty much irreconcilable.

Re: Accrington Stanley? Exactly!
Well that's us back in the relegation fight then, if we were ever really out of it. Congrats to Stanley, who are remarkable survivors. “If we do our job properly and go about it in a professional manner hopefully it could be a good evening for us.” As soon as I read these words from MApp, and him c...

Re: U's v Exeter City
It's exactly what I did on my first attempt at Championship Manager - spunk all the budget on strikers, on the assumption that the more strikers you sign the more goals you score. I was sacked after 6 months...
Re: #together
To those thinking of leaving the forum for a time - fair enough, but it'll be a duller place without you, even if we disagree on the current state of things. Conversely, I don't think you can expect posters to moderate their posts so as not to appear 'negative', especially if they don't buy this cru...
Re: #together
I've just been on a corporate induction day and forced to listen to this kind of crap. The financiers think they're philosophers now. How very patronising of Eales. It does reflect something real though - there is growing disquiet regarding his chairmanship, and this is how he's trying to address it...

Re: OxVox. Remember them?
You've really got to feel for Ian Lenegan and his attempts to purchase a stadium. He must sit there autodialing Kassam, hanging up and repeating all day long. Not a job I would fancy, and I've worked in a sales call centre.

Re: OxVox. Remember them?
Perhaps energies were focused on Charlie M's bid, as a way out of the quandary? Is it really true that the Council were ready to move over Water Eaton? If true, why have we heard nothing about it since the summer?
