Re: The C-word
Italy tested everyone coming in on planes and it did them no good. They have been aggressively testing as many as possible. The result has been over 6% mortality in Italy, compared to just over 1% in the UK. Testing won't stop the spread, because by the time people show symptoms, they will already ...
Re: Bolton
According to Wiki, Bury FC owns the ground. If true, then I expect they'll be forced to sell it.
There's many lessons here, but one of them is to make a fuss about your club plunging further and further into debt. One day, taking on that debt will prove too much for any prospective owner.

Re: You're winding me up!
I am genuinely excited by this but not getting carried away until the man himself makes a formal statement........ Perhaps those dark days of trips to Droylesden, St. Albans, Grays, Hayes & Yeading etc. might just have been worth it after all. Where was I when we were sh*t, see the aforemention...

...for now we need to establish ourselves as a solid 3rd division side. Even if we were to 'risk' going up, under our current circumstances I fear it would be a nightmare season in the 2nd. For a stronger and more sustainable push for promotion, we need a much more solid financial base than current...

Re: Tiger's Visit
I remember the song well: "Eales's money to buy the players we need ... Oxford United - we're on our way back". So, did he actually give the club any money or did he simply finance some short-term success that subsequent owners would need to find the money for?

Re: Tiger's Visit
Perhaps also worrying is that in the year to June 2018 the club lost £2million, a year when Johnson and Lundstram were reportedly sold for some £3.5million (before sell-ons to their previous clubs). There is less detail in the accounts this year so it's hard to work out how we lost so much. How doe...

Re: Tiger's Visit
I've just heard from a member of staff at the club, that they haven't been paid today, as they were supposed to be. Apparently this has happened once before, when the last day of the month also fell on a weekend. On that occasion a manual payment was processsed and they were paid later in the day. ...

Re: What a let down
I'm not sure why fans get wound up by what a manager says or doesn't say - it seems to me that there hasn't been a manager, save Mapp (except the very start of his time with us) when manager comments haven't wound the fans up. Just ignore it. It's like player interviews - 90% of the time it's like t...

Re: Which would you choose?
. The debt is that of the club, not of the shareholders. That's why companies are called limited. It means limited liability of the shareholders to the amount they have invested in the shares. The fact that someone bought a majority shareholding from the previous majority shareholder has nothing to...

Re: Which would you choose?
The current winding-up petition relates to a previous owner's debts to the stadium company, which themselves resulted from the compounding of inherited debt. . The debt is that of the club, not of the shareholders. That's why companies are called limited. It means limited liability of the sharehold...
