Re: Championship 2024/25
Nine games in. Won three, drawn three, lost three. I can't remember who it was who a few years ago who said our ambition was to be a top 30 team, and we are still there on goal difference. There are however nine clubs just three points behind us, and and only three clubs within three points above us...

Re: Championship 2024/25
After eight seasons in League 1, it is quite a surprise getting used to all of the new teams. Previously you only had to "learn" a handful of new teams each season, and if it was a club coming down, the media all focus on them anyway. Suddenly we have teams we've not played in the league f...

Championship 2024/25
It's been a bit quiet here with no posts since June - recovering from the mostly unexpected (by me at least) play-off final win. Perhaps a bit nervous to say anything for fear of jinxing the season? I was disappointed that Josh Murphy chose Pompey over us - but so far I think he has only played one ...

Re: Wem-Ber-Lee!
As above, everyone I was with pre-match saw this as a free hit. Bolton had beaten us 5-0 just two months ago and finished 10 or so points above us in the league. It seemed like the FA Trophy finals where nobody really cared what the result was, just a day out. Those in my group travelling from Oxfor...

Re: Wem-Ber-Lee!
according to match stats (my picks) possession 70:30 corners 14:5 the others looked a bit even (fouls etc). But second half I must have looked over to the scoreboard every two minutes and disappointed to not see the time to go diminishing by five minutes. Anyway, Charters was great as ever, and even...

Re: play-off run in
Well Exeter was an eventful day out. We booked advance train tickets based on a 3pm kick-off, arriving at 12:15. Then the next day the fixture got moved to 12:30, so had to rebook the outbound train to arrive at 11:11. GWR had the cheek to charge 4 lots of £10 admin fee for amending the outbound and...

Re: play-off run in
I'm sure everyone else has looked at the games coming up on Sunday. Haven't quite got it worked out yet other than we need results to go our way and realistically we need to pick up a win although there are a few combinations of results where we can get a draw. Barnsley - Northampton Lincoln - Ports...

Re: play-off run in
Well it's the first of two huge games tonight. A few weeks ago I had thought that we would be level on points with Lincoln before the match on Tuesday, and that game would effectively be the play-off decider between the two of us. On the basic assumption that teams in the top 8 of the league are mor...

Re: play-off run in
You need a VPN. Then you can listen as if you are not on UK territory. I have a VPN, and I know this option is available, but it's against the law. I'm not moralising about what anyone else chooses to do, but I'm not willing to do it myself. Similarly the hacked firesticks which are going around. F...

play-off run in
Well that's been an exciting few weeks. An unprecedented set of wins 4-0, 4-0 against lower sides, followed by an unexpected 5-0 against Peterborough. Tuesday night has set us back with the 1-0 defeat to Lincoln, leaving a play-off push mostly in our own hands. Wins against Stevenage and Exeter will...

Re: Fylde under big week
As usual, Avanti West Coast were conspiring to make this an awkward weekend of travel. The 10:30 from Euston to Glasgow had already been cancelled, so the 9:30 we were on was extra busy, and was only nine carriages instead of 11. Pompey fans were also on this train to Carlisle. So about 2/3 of the w...
