Could we put it in the centre of our defence?

Might have a bit more mobility than Gilly.

Re:

Up front Duffy and Robinson seemed to work well together when they came on. There were a couple of occasions where the two of them went for the same header and got in each others' way. They need to work at that. One thing I did notice last night about Marv is that he's good at winning free-kicks ou...

Easily the best I've seen Yemi play, and the best game I've seen for ages. I should also say that I've been critical of Jim the last few weeks, but credit where it's due tonight. I reckon the three midfielders he picked to start the game was the right choice - and so was the decision to bring on Har...

Duffy and Zebroski with Yemi on the bench and Marvellous in the stand. If Daggers are going to lump it then there might be a bit of space in midfield, so I'd be tempted to play Burgess tonight just behind the front two as well. I'd give Yemi 30 minutes to go flat out at them at the end of the game. ...

Re:

But all is not lost, it’s all going to hang on 270 minutes of football in the play-offs and I for one hope that Jim Smith goes down in history as an Oxford United all time legend before announcing his retirement on May 20th. Irrespective of what happens in the lottery that we are shortly to embark ...

I'm reminded of Andres Escobar.

On balance, I think it should continue. But I completely understand the case for calling it all off.

Re:

This year it appears, according to our fans, that finishing second will be a massive disaster, for which Smith will be responsible. If you'd offered me second at the start of the season, I would have ripped your hand off (and a fair proportion of your arm as well). But, given where we were in Novem...

I wasn't at the game and didn't watch on Sky - was reliant on the yellow-tinted commentary of Radio Oxford - so you can take these comments with a pinch of salt, but it sounds like it started to really unravel when Smith moved from 5-3-2 to 4-4-2 - putting Anaclet up the park and Corcoran in behind ...

Can I have a go even though I'm new? Fax 2 Fox 1 Killeen, Quinn (A) Odubade. Attendance: 2,721 with 283 Dreaming Spirites. UE: Martin Foster forgets he's left the Shay (and also that he's suspended) and turns out for Halifax. UE2 (and I admit this would be so unusual as to be completely implausable)...

Re:

And then hope that if he does join us he gets some decent service. That's the key isn't it. One of the great glories of the team Jim built in the 80's was the wing play of Brock, Rhoades-Brown and to a lesser extent Langan up in support. Even I could probably have got on the end of some of their cr...

I'd go so far as to say we're more likely to see Turley up front than Beechers.

I don't think many did, judging by the cloud of nicotine-laden smoke that greeted me as I descended into the bowels of the SSL at half time last night.

Thus speaks an ex-smoker. :D

I've gone for Gravesend, if only because they are on the crest of a slump.

But in all honesty I will be amazed (and quite pleased) if we qualify.
