I think the emotions are slightly different. For Orient, I was kind of resigned to it before the game (I suspected the game was up after selling Hackett and Bradbury, and the subsequent 0-3 Rushden fiasco). We'd had a few other chances to save ourselves and had failed. I think we all knew in our hea...

Re:

Setanta have won the rights to televise Conference (or Blue Bollocks, or whatever) I think it was a confguide forum member (what planet are they on?) who came up with the best description of next seasons' league, and it was thus: BlueTinpot Premier along with its' feeder leagues: BlueTinpot South B...

Re:

I rushed from the ground and was in no mood to talk to anyone. How some managed to stay and clap the team off was beyond me. I was back home in Bicester by 11 o'clock You can't have been in the car park then. I hadn't moved at 11 o'clock. Talk about prolonging the misery... Knowing it was going to ...

Thanks Boris, I didn't realise he'd gone to Darlo. Suspect in that case you might be right about him not wanting to drop to our level.

Hmm. Not wanting to drop from Darlingtons' level to ours. Now I'm depressed again.

Re:

I just think the club, players and supporters need a change. Presumably Patto is a cheaper option contractually than anyone else, but I wonder if perhaps Nigel Clough could be tempted - easily the best manager in the division. What's Dave Penney up to these days (Boris?)? He's already done it once...

Re:

Which players have you seen this season you would like us to sign? Exeter's left back for starters. Mackie as well - absolutely roasted Day last night when he came on. How I long for a proper winger. Hutchinsons' brother (clearly the deeper end of the footballing gene pool in their family) from Wok...

Re:

Exeter's superb wide/wing play made me wonder when we'll get a manager who believes in wingers once more. I miss it. Amen to that Jimski. The sad thing is Jim used them extensively in his first spell. I've even hankered after players as average as Jon Purdie or Chris Hackett at times this season. :...

Smith

I know the pain's probably still a bit fresh, but I thought the question needed asking. For my part, I've gone for upstairs. Jim will always be a legend in my eyes from what he achieved in the 80's, and as far as I'm concerned should have the freedom of Oxford - but this doesn't take away from the f...

I just despair. What a unique form of torture we fashion for ourselves, supporting this bloody football club. How many times can we bugger things up when it really matters? That said, Exeter deserved it. Mixed it around, exploited the weakness down the flanks (Mackie was outstanding when he came on)...

Exeter. Like others I'd pretty much given up the ghost by the time of the Orient game. It's fair to say I'm nervous but neither Orient last year or tonight can hold a candle to the nerves I felt at Wembley 1986, even though it mattered less than either. No doubt I will be c@cking it should (please n...

Lots of pessimism on here (or is it just reverse psychology?) not me though:

Ox 3 Ex 1
Zeb, Yemi, Anaclet Elam.

11,463
1,194 Grecians

UE: We score in the first ten minutes and the outcome is never in doubt after that.

Grecians 1 Bohemians 1 Stansfield Duffy. 6,962, with 1,366 U's. UE: George Lawrence, having recaptured his enthusiasm for the game following his cameo in Rosie's testimonial on Monday, and as a result spending all week on the Atkins diet, comes on as a second half substitute and rampages down the ri...

I was there. Near the top of the terrace directly above the tunnel. My abiding memory is being unbelievably nervous for virtually the entire game - until Jezza popped that &quotVicious left foot shot from 2 yards&quot in just before the end. Then I started thinking we might just hold on to w...
