Re: play-off run in
I know that, theoretically, we could still make the play-offs with a draw or even a loss: https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/sport/24268777.oxford-united-need-finish-league-one-play-offs/ But realistically, we need to win. Exeter are top of the 6-match form table (followed by Lincoln then Blackpool, as it...
Re: Gas-tly
Listening to Des afterwards, it seems that once we get wingers all will be well with the world. He certainly is backing himself into a corner on this, as this seems to be the only indication we get of his views on the team. And even if we get a replacement for Mills on the right, what about the rest...

Re: outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked
After the Wombles game, is Ed McG now our only remaining senior keeper for Saturday? Oh and I have heard today that Notts County fans are saying Luke Williams wants to take Ruben to Swansea. Then again, my colleague said that recently, the Notts rumour mill has been on hyperdrive, so there may be a...

Re: outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked
Being pessimistic, if you add up this apparent lack of interest in supporters, the apparent lack of progress with the stadium then you can start to wonder about how motivated the owners currently are. Is it my misunderstanding, or did this really start once Stratfield Brake was replaced by The Tria...

Re: outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked
TBH, of these four matches, only during certain periods of the second half against Charlton did I feel like we were playing with the style - and confidence - that we had shown in the early part of the season. Based on the RadOx commentary, Northampton sounded like one of those old-style performances...

Re: Oh, Biscuits
I am very much with KY on this. I always try to reflect on what our par position is, in relation to how we are doing and how others are performing, at any point in time. Up to now, we have been mostly good, but with some poor performances and aberrations. Our away wins at Derby and Barnsley, for exa...

Painful Posh Pummelling
First, a huge apology to all concerned at OUFC. I went yesterday. Guaranteed defeat (unlike last season's 0-0 and the 1-4 win not so long ago). Will I never learn... In the pub before the match, I was chatting to some Posh fans and one bit of the conversation went - THEM: we have a front four who ar...

Re: Liam Managing
A slightly odd decision from Brizzle. There is nothing yet to demonstrate that LM is not flattering to deceive. He fell short at MK and has not been with us long enough to show he can deliver over the course of a season. That said, he has made the choice and we must now trust that the Board will und...

The Timmy Mallett Derby
Given that this weekend is the Timmy Mallett derby, is it just coincidence that the latest Times Higher Education has this photo, with TM proudly wearing an OUFC badge on his hat? Picture1.png Then again, the headline is "Create PhD databases to flush out fraudsters, universities told". No...
Re: Wycombe
Quite. Cam summed it up when he spoke of no longer knowing what is and is not handball. I just do not feel sympathetic towards this ref because he is awful in general...And I am trying to recall if it was later, on RadOx or 5 Live, when it was said that perfect consistency is impossible. But Stockbr...
Re: Wycombe
I expected poor refereeing because, well, it was Seb Stockbridge, but that was mind-boggling. The McGuane incident was more similar to the non-penalty against Arsenal last year, when Moore went down. If the issue is hands/arms being in a natural position, as was said back then - how is someone expec...
Re: Rovers
And so, Mills has his red card rescinded. Just a relief that his red did not cost us the game. That ref needs to be investigated. BTW someone I knew has officiated with him in the past. I shall not repeat my colleague's description of him, but you can imagine.
Re: Rovers
One of my second teams is Torquay United. A few years ago they got to the National League playoff final, but lost having had two perfectly goals ruled out. I have never forgiven the ref. Guess who... Reading about him before the match, as well as having that dragged up (how the hell was he promoted ...

Re: Grecian ten thousand (and twenty two)
TBH even when Exeter were dominating possession for much of the second half, I very rarely felt twitchy. Maybe I was being naïve, but how few shots did our defence actually even let get through to Beadle? What I am finding difficult is getting used to the idea that we really are a very good team in ...
