You must have heard plenty of jokes about waking up at the crack of dawn, Ste. Well, one at least.

I would have been happier with Corcoran and Foster L signing, but now that Jim has swamped us with central defenders, do we need one, let alone both? Having said that, it could still be that Smith will take up the entire salary cap with centre backs though - I'm increasingly convinced he's Ian Atkin...

Season tickets

I wonder how many were sold on saturday. The official site chose not to mention a figure.

What news would encourage you to purchase a season ticket?

I'm led to believe that Marv has been told he has to move to the Oxford area if he is to remain at the club. Reading between the lines, I would suggest that this is a &quotgo find yourself a northern club, you are free to leave&quot invitation from Oxford. I don't rate him much, but I'd imag...

Talking of throwing shit at a wall, it would appear that we are building a squad around that loveable 5-3-2 formation again, doesn't it? Why else are we stockpiling central defenders? I will not be buying a season ticket unless we sign full-backs and wingers. If I see the word &quotwing back&...

Cheeky twat.

First match, Sept 1986.

First season ticket (£24!): 86-87.

Not bad for a (then) 14 year old who never lived in Oxford.

Re:

[quote=&quotHog&quot][quote=&quotJimski&quot][quote] And Farnborough are dropping Town from their title (and two divisions). Aah, the curse of Graham Westley. Just a couple of seasons ago, they were doing well in the conference and played Arsenal at Highbury in the Cup (a match they ...

The pleasures of being an Oxford United supporter: 1) It's our team. We feel more connected to our club than any Premiership fan ever will. We can make a difference. 2) It's a journey. Only us and Carlisle to my knowledge have played in 5 divisions. With which other team could you get such a tour of...

Of the players I spoke to off camera, there was a split in the camp between those happy with the formation they played all season (3-5-2), and those unhappy. However, the split was about 85-15 against the formation: those in favour, were exclusively defenders. Most players backed a 4-4-2: &quott...

&quotThis time there was a lot of expectation around the club, but that was justified. We blew it, but you can only go on what you are told to do – to follow team orders.&quot Chris Hargreaves in the OM.

That last bit appears to be another snipe at the bald eagle, no?

It depends who make decisions like what formation we'll play next season, which players we'll sign etc. If we are going to stick doggedly to a formation that has cost us promotion because Smith says so, then I'd like him to go. If he starts signing old hasbeens/neverweres/unknown Latvians, then I'd ...
