Re: Spirites v Spiritless.
I am worried with the negatives which seem to have been building for some time waiting for a defeat. So far as the game is concerned I tend to agree with GY. Chesterfield were the best side I have seen since we came back into the league. Totally agree that I would expect them to win the league by so...

Re: Front 4 for Saturday
To be fair we tend to do pretty well against the top teams. So I think that CW is OK playing mind games against the top teams as we seem to do OK in those games. It is building up mid table teams that annoys me more. I read somewhere that Chesterfield are reputed to have double the budget than we ha...

Re: Front 4 for Saturday
I would go ii) to start with if Smalley is fit enough to be in the squad (start or on the bench).
if he can't then iii)
I agree totally that it shouldn't be 1) but I have a horrible feeling ....
As you suggest though who would be a manager.

Re: The squad
I think that it is defensive at home (5 goals in 3 games). Away we are good on the break when teams come at us. But playing 4 centre midfield players for a home game does seem to me to be pretty defensive and trying to contain rather than to get through other teams and making chances. On the goals f...
Re: The squad
I think that the banging on about using the Development squad is because IL planned this to be the case (no other short term loans- use the development squad) My view is that IL/ CW don't quite agree on this although the Development Squad players will clearly be more experienced and hopefully better...
The squad
I am just picking bits out of other threads really and whilst we have had a great start, the worry is the overall small numbers in the squad. One thing seems certain, CW does not trust the younger players yet. They have of course come from the Development Squad and this time next year the hope is th...

Re: Tour of Duty
Thanks for that Slappy. I think that most of us would have taken 4 points in the last 2 games plus the start that we have had in 7. But the injury situation is worrying. It is Smalley that worries me. The rest were probably injuries that are just one of those things and could happen to anybody. But ...

Re: Oxford Cty
This is so strange. When will it all go wrong (it most certainly will). In reality I wonder what the real strategy is? The City is big enough for what a League 1 club, City's ground I suspect would struggle to get planning permission to enable it to get to league standard and would be very costly. C...

Re: Transfer window slams shut
Going slightly off topic, but interesting on Peterborough. I am suspecting that CW is not the right kind of manager to follow such a strategy, but if you get it right ....

Re: Diminishing Crowds...
OK to be devils advocate this 'soulless stadium' stuff. I am not sure. I went to the Manor for many years. I saw2,800 v Cambridge and in the last season where we were shocking the ground was generally soulless with an average of what 4000? Slumdon at home in the FA Cup and when we beat DiCanios lot ...
Re: Dale fail
I was really looking forward to the two home games. I genuinely thought that we had the chance to get 4-6 points and put up a show for the supporters. But in both games we have been extremely poor. The frustration is in relation to the lack of belief in the younger players. If CW won't put on COD or...
