Need is an interesting word. There are degrees of necessity. If Kassam puts the price up to much, then the degree of necessity drops because the financial outcome becomes unviable. [/quote]
true. thanks.

Re:
Sorry Neil, but that is simply not going to happen. People like Kassam, Lenaghan, and Merry have wealth for a reason. The reason is that they know how much to pay for something. They have lawyers, accountants, valuers and a shed load of other advisors to tell them how much the stadium is worth, and...

actually i saw the goal again on tv last night, and have changed my mind! i really don't remember him starting from that far out. a la the old joke about seeing whether the wayward shot goes in on the replay, he ran further and beat more men on the replay. sometimes i wonder if i can ever watc...

Re: what a (yester)DAY
Sheer determination got him that goal. What a moment. agree that the team showed wonderful resilience, but i'm not sure i agree with this! he started his run from in front of where i sit, and to me it looked like he was looking to find a man, but it opened up so he started moving into the space. wh...

Re:
I'm not 100% convinced by this argument - given we've had a succession of managers who have brought in pretty much nothing but players "they have had" at previous clubs ... which has led us to where we are now. Maybe Smith will prove to be a better judge than Atkins, Rix, Talbot ......

well quite, and there should be root and branch change at the club to rectify this. but the weekend had also prompted me to think about the different nature of this division, and quite what the polorisation of the two ends of it means in terms of the sort of home and away consistency you need... per...

Re:
I think the bunching at the top of the league is largely just random, it just so happens that 4 teams have had good starts to the season. The teams that won the league usually won all but 5/6 home games in the season though. oops, posting without looking - thanks isaac. you're right of course, it's...

Re:
Nice to be home at last but some scary stuff today. York City have four wins and a draw but are still only fourth in the table, so it shows just how difficult it’s going to be to get out of this small pond at the first time of asking. Should we go on one of our ‘bad runs’ of maybe six games (not ma...

i also thought hargreaves did very well. we'd just been talking about how well willmott had slotted back in, when i thought he didn't deal well with the attack that led to the vic's goal. but i did think northwich looked better going forward than i'd expected - able to move the ball forward quickly,...
