&quotI don't follow this huge ehtical argument about franchise&quot ......... Blimey, next you'll be saying that Chelsea are good for the game and that it's perfectly acceptable for Russian Oligarchs to extort state funds and throw them at a European football clubs in the hope to gain profil...

One off because it's the first year of the new Wembley. Obviously, there'll be many cup final visits for us in the years ahead  20/04/86. Yeah, I think I can still stick by the best day of my life statement, Justin, if I think back to how I felt at the time. I was certainly more emotional seein...

I soooo want a trip to Wembley. It's a one off opportunity and will be a very special day out. To lose in the semi's would really hurt. I truly believe that we've done more than our fair slice of penance and, if there is any justice in the footballing world, a Wembley victory will soon be bestowed u...

&quotThis is tedious.&quot ....... But it is consistently tedious on here. Or do you think that it is inconsistently tedious and logged on in the hope of finding something remotely interesting for a change?

&quot1,666 888 from Oxford&quot ............ And we still struggle with the wage cap.

But surely if a team is consistently inconsistent, their home record would be consistently favourable.

Re:
So in what way did that tease an improved performance out of the player?
When the story was/is told by Rosie, it is told in a positive sense, recognising both approaches were appropriate at the point in time and worked on him ...... And I think Ros...

Rosie story, from memory. In essence: - signs for Oxford, playing away at Wimbledon. Having a nightmare. - Half time, Smith chucks him 10 pence and tells him to phone his wife to tell her the house move is off. - second half, playing on the wing in front of Smith. Smith slating him. - Rosie justifia...

I also think that many do not understand the man management style of a miserable old yorkshire man. He uses extremes to get a reaction, sometimes really slating, sometimes very supportive. The art of course is knowing what to use when. Have you ever heard Rosie's story of playing away at Wimbledon, ...

&quotOne final question, do you think he is more passionate about Oxford than he would be about any other club&quot ........

Yes, exaggerated by the fact that he was at the helm when we went down, sentiment and his loyalty to Merry.

And I bet that Smith would agree with all your points, Shoobedoo. Smith has at times struggled this season. What may not always help is that he cares passionately and hence is overly emotive, fan-like, desperately wanting to get us back up. He does feel a sense of responsibility, I believe. Sometime...

I think Smith can do a lot better, as can Merry, the coaches and the players. Us fans could also do a lot better by accepting that it's not always perfect and mistakes will be made along the way, especially at this shite level of football. This season, the thing we had (have?) that would see us thro...

D'you think Yemi's strengths would be apparent playing on a pitch like a ploughed field? Why all this anti Smith nonsense? This year it appears, according to our fans, that finishing second will be a massive disaster, for which Smith will be responsible. If two, or more, went up automatically, as in...

It would never be in my heart to even suggest that Smith should go, but I do think that Patto, as his assistant, would be perfect both for the short and longer term.

The Grebis debacle is somewhat embarrassing, akin to three successive foul throws. Mooro, have you considered that our youth players might not be good enough? Do you watch them? Do you go to first team games? It's not as though Smith is afraid to bring in and use young inexperienced players - Rose, ...
