Re: Wem-Ber-Lee!
I wasn't at all nervous before the game. Not because I was confident of winning - the opposite really. I wasn't expecting much, and didn't think it that important whether we won or not. This was not like 2010, where the very future of the club hinged on the result. So I very much enjoyed the first h...

More Cobblers?
I actually thought it was a decent game on Tuesday, and but for some moments of almost unbelievable incompetence we would have won comfortably. The starting line-up looked to be leaving the midfield very light, but it allowed us to go forward and create chances from the word go. So credit to Des for...
Re: Gas-tly
Yeah Saturday was terrible. Anyone thinking Cumming might be an upgrade on Beadle (or even an equivalent) would do well to look at all three goals. We were all over the shop for the first 45 mins. And even when we then dominated the start of the second half, all we had to show for it was a deflected...

Re: outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked
The Triangle planning application was supposed to be put in November. Now I don't think there was a deadline to say it had to be in, but what's holding it up? We've already seen the original international stadium architects for Stratfield Brake replaced with a smaller UK based company. Are our owne...

Re: outcobbled, a short canvas, rammed, and not addicked
I'm pretty happy with the overall festive period. At Northampton we were seconds (and a dodgy free kick) away from a draw. Against Cambridge, we played easily well enough in the second half to get the win (I didn't see the opening 45, which I gather was a different story, but credit to Des for chang...

Re: Oh, Biscuits
When we appointed Liam Manning, many fans thought we were already relegated, and there was a general consensus that even if we survived, it would take several transfer windows to undo the terrible squad situation that Robinson had left Us with. In that context, and with a promising manager having wa...

Re: Liam Managing
Manning down. It's understandable but very disappointing. I can't bring myself to wish him well at BCFC, even if it is obviously a bigger and better job. I think it does present more risk for him - they have more expectation than we do, and if he bombs there he'll have achieved nothing of note. I do...

Re: Grecian ten thousand (and twenty two)
Colin's analysis in the fans view on the main RageOnline page says the supporters trust has nearly £1M in the bank, which seems an extraordinary amount of money to have saved up. But equally is a drop in the ocean if the Trust ever wanted to have a meaningful involvement in the running of the club....

Grecian ten thousand (and twenty two)
My first home game of the season. Great result, and we largely controlled the game without having that much of the ball, but the scoreline definitely flattered Us. As the second half wore on Exeter were camped nearer and nearer our goal, and although they had no really good chances, I wouldn't have ...

Re: Aaron Ramsdale
Thanks for that Bob. Pleased to have read the full article. Especially having just read the Cambridge match thread on YF where some of our 'fans' are genuinely arguing that it is ok to scream vile abuse at our own players because they've paid to watch them play football...
Re: Signings
The keeper situation is a tricky one of our own historical making. Neither Stevens nor Eastwood are quite good enough to be number one at an aspiring club in our league, but both are probably too good to be reserve. McGinty might have promise, but hasn't shown he's anywhere near ready to be starting...

Re: Going down?
I had travelled up, braving rail replacement buses, to give the team and Manning some love after a tough end to the season, and I'll admit I expected a win, especially after seeing the opening half. As it is I didn't even stay to clap the team off - my last train home was ridiculously early and I di...

Re: Going down?
Fair play to Liam Manning. He’s come in, inheriting a basket-case, made us hard to beat and then built on it to get a couple of precious wins when it mattered. And whilst he may be a bit boring, he has kept his head whilst all around him were losing theirs, to his immense credit. Exactly this. He h...

Re: Going down?
But if Cambridge win their last two, we really have to also win our last two. I don't know what maths you've been running, but this isn't necessarily true at all. If we win on Saturday, and MK fail to beat Barnsley, we are basically safe. Of course, if we don't beat FGR then it gets very hairy agai...

Re: Going down?
Yes last night's performance, combined with the results of others, has given me some hope, and I have changed my vote - I now think it's probably slightly more likely than not that we will survive. It will be uncomfortably close either way though. Here's a thought - last night will have taken a lot ...
