Re: Wow

Ahem, from what I can recall of the Orient game it was WPL who were in charge at the time. To play devil’s advocate, going back before WPL and Firoka we had the spend, spend strategy of Cox and Herd (disaster off the field and doing ok on it) and before that from Maxwell (not sure where the money c...

Re: Wow

Having a licence most definitely DOES weaken the club's position. EG Leases have covenants for tenant's quiet enjoyment, licences are very flimsy in comparison and don't tend to have anything like this in writing. Would be good to see a copy of the licence posted up here, I've never seen it so can't...

Re: Wow

Not really. Just shows how poor the due diligence was when Woodstock Partners took over in 2006. Lenagan just seemingly took sockless Nick at face value.

Re: Wow

I believe it's a licence that the club have. Not a lease.

A licence is the lowest property right you can have.

Re: Wow

Well at long last after a summer of tumbleweed , which was verging on negligence. we have some action. And I welcome that. Rather than go into immediate knee jerk mode, (which so many OUFC supporters do), all I can say is that we should be thankful that we had two well resourced candidates ready to ...

I've met Charlie a couple of times. Nice guy, smart, keen supporter. Assume he's well connected.

Re: OxVox - Heritage Project Extension 'Stadium Signage'

Have no problem with what OxVox has done. I voted in favour as well. Well done. But my God isn't progress slow. How's the upcoming fixture board outside the ground coming along? That thing we talked about, what ,5 years ago? Basic advertising for the club. As for the yellow seats well I guess we'll ...

Re: Kick It Out

Does anyone remember Sheffield Wednesday v Oxford United in the mid seventies when Hughie Curran got sent of for NUTTING A REF? And now we have 4 pages of comment and disquiet on the amazing Danny Hylton 2011 gob off. Times have changed.. that's all I've got to say. The bloke's done his stir - we've...

Re: Tinkerman

There are a lot of assumptions in your squad review. How sure are you that Williams' wages were heavily subsidised?
One thing I do know is that our highest paid player last season has now left the club.
Let's see what happens anyway.

Re: Tinkerman

I reckon there will be quite a few additions. Let's not get too doomstruck yet old chap. We need 3 top level strikers, 2 creative midfielders, 3 wide midfielders, and 2 full backs, not to mention a temporary decent keeper. And on a reduced budget. Hmmm. You do the maths. Don't think we need as many...

Re: Tinkerman

Can't we at least wait till we see what the 14/15 squad is looking like before travelling due south in a handcart?

We've been unbeaten for almost a month now and that's good enough for me ;]

Re: James Constable

To say we look like a 'relegation threatened' squad three weeks into the close season is er.. am I allowed to say it ...bonkers. Let's at least see who the new recruits are before sticking our heads in the oven. And we do have the basis of a good defence - Raynes is being unfairly maligned by ...

Re: James Constable

I doubt that Beano is our 'best asset' though now GY. In the medium term our best assets will be our young bloods. Beano is true legend - my kids, my non-supporting OUFC mates who know me well know who he is and are aware of his back story. But from a football perspective in May 2014 as OUFC's numbe...
