David Blyth Logie Davidson, born Lanark. Centre-half. Died 1954. Joined from Leyton Orient after being released from his contract. At the end of the 1949-50 season he was being talked about as the defensive lynchpin United so desperately needed, but he played just nine games the following season before being relegated to the reserves, where he remained until the end of the 1950-51 season.
