Lee Steele joined United during the Summer of 2002, having earned himself an excellent reputation at Brighton. He was Albion's second top scorer in their Div 2 championship season, despite only making 18 appearances. His start to the 2002/03 season was delayed due to suspension and a minor ankle injury, followed by an abdominal strain and who knows what else. Everyone at the club has great expectations of Steele, especially following his fine form since he came into the side in the latter third of his first season, although the knee injury that kept him out until December 2003 was a blow to both the player and the club. After leaving United he joined Leyton Orient, and it was while there that he scored the winning goal against Oxford that ensured the Os were promoted, while at the same time the Us were relegated.
