A draw up at Blackpool was probably just about a fair result, Derek Lilley scoring his first goal for Oxford midway through the second half to equalise a Blackpool goal which, although against the run of play, didn't come as much of a surprise. Joey and Paul Powell were both booked for highly innocuous looking fouls, and Watson saw yellow for dissent, although Blackpool's Forsyth escaped any punishment for a much more vociferous scream at the linesman. James Lambert made his debut for United, and Whelan went off injured again. The match report has even fewer details…
Former United players amongst today's goalscorers include Jim Magilton for Ipswich and Marco Gabbiadini (again) who knocked in two for Darlington.
