United’s FA Cup tie rearranged

Article by Dan Church Thursday, November 21st, 2013

Oxford United’s FA Cup first-round replay away to Gateshead has been rearranged for Thursday 5 December, 19:45 kick-off. Last night’s tie at the Gateshead International Stadium was postponed an hour prior to kick-off due to a waterlogged pitch, but both clubs have now agreed to the new date.

The Us tough away fixture will also be broadcasted live on television, with BT Sport covering United’s domestic cup tie at the non-league outfit.

Tickets for the original tie will still be valid for the rearranged match, and those fans that travelled north yesterday on the London Road Club coaches will be rewarded with reduced travel prices to the first-round replay fixture.

BT Sport’s decision to still broadcast the FA Cup tie means both sides benefit from the £33,750 broadcast fees, with the winners set to meet Wrexham in the second-round on Monday 9 December.
