United have been drawn at home to Everton in the second round first leg of the Worthington Cup. The game will take place on 14th September and ticket details will be announced towards the end of this week.
Oxford beat Oldham at the Manor 1-0, leaving the Latics still without a league goal this season. The United starting line-up was the same that began the game against Southend, and yet again it was Matt Murphy who got the goal, a 15th minute penalty given for a push on Anthrobus. Cook and McGowan were both booked by an inconsistent referee. Check out the match report, as ever.
Former U's hitting the target today included Mark Stein, who scored Bournemouth's consolation, and Andy Melville, who knocked in an own goal for Charlton at Fulham. Dave Leworthy also scored again for Kingstonian in the Conference.
It would appear that the SOUS Gala Night advertised in the matchday programme to take place on September 23rd, is in fact nothing to do with SOUS, but was in fact organised by the club.
