Two important signings

Two important signings

Firoz Kassam and Taylor Woodrow have completed the signing of the deal which allows TW to walk away from building Minchery Farm. This entailed a payment of £1½ million by Kassam to the construction company in order to prevent them from withdrawing from the CVA agreement, thus scuppering it, and now permits Kassam to sign a contract with one of McAlpine, Mowlem or Barr.
The other signature obtained today was that of Ross Weatherstone, who signed an 18 month contract.

Watson hears the call

Mark Watson has been called up by Canada to play in two friendly fixtures in January. The Canadians play against Trinidad & Tobago in Port of Spain on January 8th and against Venezuela in Caracas on January 11th. This means Watty will miss either the league game at Preston on the 8th or, less likely, an FA Cup 4th round appearance should United get past Forest tomorrow. It's also possible, of course, that he might not miss a game at all, should United lose to Forest but Preston beat Oldham on Saturday.

They once wore Yellow

Tranmere boss John Aldridge has signed a new 2½ year contract.
