The class of 86

Oxford United face what is arguably their biggest test so far this season when they welcome Stevenage Borough to Minchery Farm tomorrow. Borough are unbeaten in their opening four games, drawing the first three before demolishing Ebbsfleet United 3-0 on Tuesday. In their six meetings so far Oxford have yet to lose to Stevenage, but history means nothing in the heat of battle and United will have to be at least as good as they were when beating Chester City 4-0 on Tuesday to maintain that record.

Chris Wilder should have a full squad from which to select his chosen team, with Jack Midson recovered from a knock he received at his former club Histon last weekend. The big questions are whether or not he will recall Luke Foster to the defence after Rhys Day performed so well on Tuesday, and whether there's going to be a place for Adam Chapman either in defence or midfield. Similarly, will Wilder stick with the three up front that put Chester to the sword, or will he prefer a more traditional two striker option, with either Matt Green or Midson on the bench or out wide.

Stevenage know that they will have to be at their best to keep out the red-hot James Constable, while Oxford's midfield of Adam Murray, Simon Clist, and Dannie Bulman will also cause them plenty of problems. Borough's attacking threat usually comes from Ryan Clarke's former Salisbury City teammate Charlie Griffin, but he could be out injured. This might allow Graham Westley to give Us old-boy Yemi Odubade a rare chance to play, although with Chris Beardsley playing well Yemi may be preferred on the bench, alongside Eddie Odhiambo. Another ex-U in the Borough side is Jon Ashton, who will face the unenviable task of keeping Oxford's front line quiet. The question on the lips of most Oxford fans is whether Stevenage, who made the play-offs last season at Oxford's expense, will bring more than the 86 fans who supported them last season.[@opponent]stevenage borough[/@opponent] [@connection]stevenage borough[/@connection]
