We need a decent manager to do that.

Seems more than speculation. Coming for a medical on Monday:

MApp says Barnett is taking this weekend to think over an offer, and also confirms we are looking at a midfielder (hurrah).

MacDonald sustained a nasty gash to his leg on Boxing Day
but has hopefully made a full recovery:

The last paragraph in tonight's Peterborough Telegraph article
contains a direct quote from Darren Ferguson who says
getting rid of Barnett is a big deal:

So It looks like MacDonald has signed - bit of a strange one as he's the top scorer at a team in the top three. Not complaining though if he's a wide right-sided attacking player. Replaces Alfie pretty much.

THD and Burns have left - Burns has gone to Cheltenham for the rest of the season.

Seems like a bit of a Wilder situation. Contract expires at the end of the season, but at this point only had conversations rather than negotiations.

Neither surprised nor disappointed by Burns' departure. THD has done very well, but an understandable decision given the permanent signings this week. So long as the three planned signings happen today, I am in serious danger of feeling slightly upbeat again (at least until about 3.15pm on Saturday).

Real shame about THD. A quality player who will go far.

Burns has done nothing so not unhappy about his departure.

David Hunt has also formally finally left the building. Again, no tears and no surprises.

Bizarre to attract a goal scorer from promotion candidates. Burton's crowds have been falling badly, and I wonder if it is a money oriented decision on their part? I'm not going to complain about attracting a goal scoring wide man.

It will be interest6ing to see who the other two are.

For the record, I thought Skarz and Brindley did well on Saturday, especially Skarz, who looks very composed and positions himself really well in defence.

I've just read on twitter that RadOx are reporting that Barnett is in talks with Shrewsbury and may end up there, and there have been 2 bids turned down for mystery midfielder. I wonder if the Campbell/Jarrow situation may come back to haunt us. Having said that we only play with one number 9 and I'm very happy with Roberts or Hylton up front and we've also got Hoban and Hoskins.

Barnet has indeed gone to Shrews.

Did Dunkley convert his loan to a permanent move then? (I think I missed any news on this.)

We've signed 34 year old goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown.

He was a free agent but last played for Creepy Crawley.

I've seen nothing to confirm this. It's not reported on Kiddy's site or our's.

I don't think I could have coped with a sudden bout of optimism...
