"As they contemplate their relegation from the Football League, the directors of Oxford United might like to ask which one of them turned down Aidy Boothroyd's application to become their manager on the grounds he had "insufficient experience".
This morning, as Watford wonder what to do with the estimated £30 million this victory brought them, he ought to make contact with the Decca executive who informed the Beatles that guitar groups were passé."
Interesting, but doesnt mention at which point he applied and also fails to notice that the person to which he refers (now, which of our many directors could that possibly be?) is no longer at the club.
Telegraph on Boothroyd
Yes I heard the same comment on 5 (lets just recycle what the papers have written)Live. Of course what they don't mention is that he probably applied for every managerial job going over the last couple of years and got turned down for all except one.
Kassam was useless at making the right managerial appointment based on track record so you can hardly blame himfor not picking somebody based on their future record.
All the comment really shows is the ignorance of the Telegraph journalist. Now what does that remind me of???
