OUFC-related deadline-day rumour thread

Post by Joey's Toe »

Thought I'd start a thread for anyone who's got any reliable rumours on comings or goings at Grenoble Road.

I, for my part, have nothing to put into the mix. Although I always think back on deadline day to an old Oxford Mail seller on Cornmarket who, whenever he saw someone walk past in a Yellows shirt, would shout &quotRonaldo signs for Oxford! Read all about it!&quot. Every time I had to double-take before realising it was a wind-up.

I've just been texted that Adam Chapman is released from jail on Friday and will rejoin the squad, can't find it on the internet but if it's true I think it's our best signing of the day easily! Although I do expect a striker to be signed...

Hardly a new signing though. 0/10

Now you're talking. Any grounds for this, or is it to be filed with &quotLes Ferdinand's helicopter has just landed in the KasStad centre cicle...&quot

Chapman has been on day release for a while and will rejoin the squad next week.

I don't know of any specific rumours, I just expect him to sign one, or resign Guy.

Rumours from the interweb

Post by Swissbloke »

Potter to an un-named League 1 side.

Constable to Notts Co

Kinni back to Oxford

Tonkin to un-named League 2 side

Paul Benson to Oxford

All likely to be rubbish rumours.

No, it's got weaker. One of the rumour starters now says it's off.

From BBC website
1639: Into League One now. Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has told BBC Radio Solent that it is now &quotunlikely&quot there will be any movement in or out at Dean Court. Millwall had made a bid for Liam Feeney, while the Cherries were hoping to sign a striker but both moves have broken down.
Good news?

Sell on clause caused the collapse. But again that is coming from the sauce.

Good news if true - we should be insisting on sell-on clauses and all sorts of other add-ons for a player of Beano's ability and potential.
