CONFERENCE HEARING........

Post by OUFC4eva »

Oh Bollocks.

I note the &quotproblem&quot came to light in November.

For christ sakes..............I just cannot face a relegation battle.

An 11 point deduction would put us in the relegation zone. But isn't there usually a penalty over and above the points gained, and that could be enhanced further if the Conference believe it was in any way willful.

Please would someone go and pay the gypsy to remove the curse and dig up the pitch to find the Swinedown shirt allegedly under there.

Just how many more major knocks can this club realistically face.

Note the characteristic contemporary misuse of &quotrefuting&quot in the BBC story.

Indeed. Surely they need to fute the story before they can refute it...

Not sure about the punishment over and above, GY. Mansfield were docked 4 points for a similar offence, which were all the points they'd gained while their ineligible player was on the pitch, and when Alty had their 18 point deduction a couple of seasons back that reflected the amount of points they'd gained while fielding their wrong 'un. Unless you mean a financial penalty, in which case I don't know.

Oh joy.
Why do we bother?
Came to light in November - who discovered this? Funny how the fans were not told.
If we have broken the rules we deserve to be punished like everyone else.
Someone deserves a rollicking / the sack or whatever.
Why would we not register one of the players who was under contract with us? Possibly something to do with Patto freezing him out and saying he would not play for the club again?

From the BBC &quotA points deduction would almost certainly mean the end of United's fading play-off hopes. &quot

Surely the understatement of the year. I've never even contemplated relegation but a points deduction like that could make it a real possibility.

OUFC official statement

Personally I'd be in favour of waiting to see what happens at the meeting before panicking, or calling for heads to roll, or putting a gun to my head (or anyone else's). But looking at TIU I'm in a minority of one.

I'd like to know if Chris Wilder knew about the possible points deduction before taking the managers job.

I'd also like to know if the club knew about a possible points deduction whilst they were promoting and selling the 'lucky seven' tickets.

They must have known since it &quotcame to light&quot in November.
Those 5,000|| home gates over the festive period would have been considerably less if this had been known by the pay on the day fans.

This incompetence beggars belief.

If the club are refuting this it means that they do not think there is any case to answer, so what was it that came to light? Or have they misunderstood the meaning of &quotto refute&quot.

Our Board have done a good job running good ship OUFC ensuring that we have adequate risk management and controls in place. Well done Nick and Jim.
Or am I being too harsh here?
