Chances of Deano being sold by Sunderland?

Post by Boogie »

Hopefully, this has increased as the new manager at Sunderland would, I think, want to bring in a new captain to steady the ship in the January window.

I know, I'm probably clutching at straws but Keane going could be the most significant thing to happen to OUFC this season.

So Pena, are these what you think IL would spend the sell-on clause money on?

this could be the start of a beautiful thing ...

the resurrection of the mighty yellows under the stewardship of El Keano, the team being captained by a returning* hero El Deano

*returning = by way of a stopover at swindle for a couple of months, thus earning us a few hundred thousand quid in sell-on clause money

... you can but dream

I wasn't suggesting that Keane or Deano would come to Oxford.

Are you the Tin Man or the Lion, Pena?

Oh sorry, I forgot, Pena has left us until August...

Does anyone know if the sell on clause will give us 25% of the fee OR 25% of the fee LESS whatever we have already recieved (-£350,000?)

Assuming he is sold of course......

That's a very dubious report - it ends up predicting a mere 1-0 defeat at Yeovil the following Saturday

Never believe anything you read from those amateur web sites.

However, as an impartial, independent, and totally accurate person who had nothing to do whatsoever with writing that tedious rubbish, I can confirm that the 25% is of the total fee that Sunderland would receive (less tax, presumably).

Hearts defender and captain Christophe Berra is prepared to leave Edinburgh and join Sunderland, if the two clubs can agree a fee. (The Times)

Let's hope this gives Sunderland their new captain and paves the way....

Though Hull have just signed Jimmy Bullard for £5m, so they might be a little less desperate for a right-sided midfielder now...

Shame - 25% of £5m is a reasonably considerable sum
