One for the oldies

Post by GodalmingYellow »

Does anyone on here know where the following teams played their home matches in the 1940s and 1950s?

Chelsea Mariners
St Frideswides (possibly somewhere in Osney)
Banbury Northern Aluminium Company (BNAC)
Metal & Produce Recovery Depot (MPRD) (ground was somewhere in Cowley)
RNSM (and what does RNSM stand for?)
Uxbridge
Littlemore
Balliol College Boat Club
YMCA

Thanks for any helpful responses.

Can I suggest you send an enquiry to the Oxford Mail who dedicate several pages every Monday to these sort of local history/memory things (my 92 year old mum makes a point of walking into Abingdon every Monday to get a copy!). If you supply an image or two of (presumably) an old programme you have with these names in I suspect you'll get more responses than you will on here and they may even be contacted by old chaps who played for these teams!
