Stew Donald is having a nightmare at Eastleigh! Sacked Allen as manager already and brought back Richard Hill as Director of Football and Craig McAllister as a coach. I wonder how much compo he's having to shell out?

He started off his northern league travels at Newcastle Benfield it seems as they describe him as "Benfield legend now back at his spiritual home" on their website.

They are the club that York signed Richard Brodie from (the first time)

Former accident-prone left-back Wayne Hatswell, now reinvented as a successful coach with a burgeoning CV, is back at Newport County until the end of the season as they battle against the drop.

Hatswell was credited with being the mastermind to County's non-league success which prompted their rise back into the Football League during his spell as coach and Assistant Manager. But he is remembered by Oxford fans for being surprisingly signed by Mark Wright for Chester despite his hapless performances when the pair were together at Oxford (it subsequently turned out that Wright was having an affair with Mrs Hatswell; surely the most cynical reason ever for signing a player).

One of my favourite Oxford players of all time - not necessarily the most gifted, but if the rest of the squad had been half as committed as he was, then those fallow years would not have been anywhere near as disastrous as they were.
