BREAKING NEWS - Apparently Louis Van Gal has been sacked by Manchester United!!
Well, that has come completely out of the blue, I haven't heard anything about that being likely to happen.
Wonder who they are going to bring in????

Things slowly coming together:

caretake jon Whitney confirmed as permanent at Walsall - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36424734
Alan Stubbs leaves Hibs for Rotherham - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36426717
Former Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer takes over at Blackpool- http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36431203

and after weeks of publicly looking for a new manager, Leeds remember they have to sack the old one first - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36420398

Plus : di MAtteo due in at Villa, & Garry Monk now in line for Leeds
Owen Coyle odds on for the Blackburn job, from Warnock & McLeish (!)
McDermott 7/4 for Bolton, followed by Adkins, Cotterill, Phil Brown, Steve evans & Peter Reid (!)
Adkins leads a very open market for the charlton job
Oscar Garcia favourite for Forest, from Evans, Warnock & MArtin o'neill
and away from the usual suspects, more radical favourites include:
Frankie Bunn tops the list for Oldham
BetVictor put di Canio top of their list for Port Vale, from Glenn Hoddle and Ronnie Moore
Jaap Stam, Avram Grant and Gianfranco Zola top the list for Reading

Two more sorted (plus one in Scotland):

Andy Hessenthaler appointed permanently at Orient - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36449766
Russell Slade leaves Cardiff for Charlton - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36460179
Neil Lennon returns north of the border for Hibs - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36477421

Elsewhere:
Koeman expected to be confirmed at Goodison in the next couple of days
with early runners for his replacement at Soton being de Boer, AVB, Pellegrini or Eddie Howe
Bolton have apparently narrowed their search down to Adkins or Cotterill - tho Phil Parkinson still popular with the bookies
Port Vale appear keen to have someone who has never managed before - eg Kuqi, Ribiero
Forest favourites - Oscar Garcia, Zola, Warnock & Steve Evans
Jaap Stam still favourite for the REading job, again from Zola and PArkinson

Seems the bookies do know best (Sometimes), with two more spots filled by the expected people:

Phil PArkinson leaves Bradford for Bolton - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36497728
while Jaap Stam launches his managerial career at REading - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36490662

Parkinson was just couple months short of five years at Bradford and was in 6th place on the long-serving list (having fallen one spot since Paul Hurst at Grimsby jumped straight into 5th spot as they were promoted).
MAPP is now 25th though will move up again if and when Koeman is confirmed at Everton.

Another update as the new season approaches:

9 July - Oldham appoint Stephen Robinson to briefly mean that we have a full house of mnagers in place until...
22nd July - when Big Sam finally leaves Sunderland to take on the England job..
... and Steve Bruce walks away from the madness at Hull
23rd July - Sunderland waste no time in appointing Dave Moyes
26th July - Steven Pressley is sacked by Fleetwood
29th July - Wolves new owners want their own man, so part company with Kenny Jackett
30th July - Wolves own man turns out to be ex-Italian international keeper Walter Zenga...
...while Uwe Rosler is appointed at Fleetwood...

...leaving just Hull facing the new season without a manager in place...

Bruce had been in place for over 4 years and had reached 7th place on the long serving list.
JAckett had been at Wolved for jsut over 3 years and left from 16th position.
After both of these departues, Appleton has now risen to 22nd position.

As we approach kick-off it is interesting to note that in the four years since the start of the 12/13 season, there have been 250 managerial changes

So, after a period of relative calm, heads are beginning to roll - and it looks like more are to come very soon:

26th - Andy Hessenthaler becomes the first club casualty of the season after five months at Leyton Orient - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37472541
27th - Nigel Pearson suspended by Derby county - Chris Powell put in temporary charge- http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37489071
28th - Warren Feeney follows him at Newport, bottom of League Two - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37494578
29th - Tony Mowbray has today resigned from his position at Coventry, bottom of League One - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37502741

Meanwhile the Telegraph has claimed Big Sam with Barnsley Asst boss Tommy Wright suspended and JFH at QPR also in the crosshairs - who'snext

Two big heads roll today:

and Guidolin at Swansea - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37542434

GUidolin immediately replaced by former USMNT boss Bob Bradley
while a former Sampdoria boss arrives at Leyton Orient - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37537337

Anything the Swans do, so can the Bluebirds:

Trollope replaced by Warnock at Cardiff - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37558965

STeve Bruce clear odds on favourite to take the Villa job, with the next few names on the list all would arguably be better staying where they were: David Wagner (top with Huddersfield) 6s, Dean Smith (Brentford) 10s, Nathan Jones (Luton) 14s, Lee Johnson (Bristol C) 20s. Caretaker Steve Clarke is at 12s, while other worrying names down the list include Mclaren, Sherwood, Cotterill & ol' Sven! B
