A question for the accountants - non-OUFC related

Post by tomoufc »

There appear to be one or two accountants on this forum, so I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out.

I'm conducting a study into the privatisation of British railways. For part of this I would like to view the public accounts of train operating companies (TOCs) that have been defunct, kaput, out-of-business for a few years. Reading some info on the Companies House website it appears as if companies can be 'struck-off' their records if they are not trading. Since TOCs are special purpose vehicles, once they stop running a train service that's it - there's no longer a need for them to exist. If a company has been struck-off, which I imagine is the case with the companies that I want to look in to, is there another way of finding their accounts? Some kind of public record?

Thanks if anyone can help.
