Just for an update on where are former youth teamers have gone to:
Championship – Dean Whitehead (Boro), Blackstock (Forest), Sam ricketts (Wolves), Craig Davies (Bolton)
League 2 – Hackett (Noton), Alex Fisher (Mansfield)
Abroad – Josh Mulvany (Koo Tee Pee – Finland), Josh Hill (Hawkes Bay - NZ)
Conference – Matty Taylor (Bristol R), James Clarke (Woking)
Conference N/S (Step2) – Winters & Benjamin (Ox C), Eric & Eddie Odhiambo (Anaclet) – Brackley; Sam Deering (Whitehawk), Ty Marsh (Ebbsfleet), Marvin Ekpiteta (Chelmsford)
Step 3 – Marvin Martin, Darius Browne, Duran Martin, David Lynn(?) (all Banbury), Richard Groves, Ian Sampson (Bideford), Phil Wilson (Dulwich), James Dobson (Slough), Greg Tindle (Chippenham)
Step 4 – James Foster, Josh Dutton-Black, Ryan Brooks, Matt Woodley, Keiron Beesley (all Didcot) Andrew Gunn, Aaron Woodley, Jamie Cook (North leigh), Gareth Tucker (Wantage) Henry Owen (Ossett Al), Angus Mackay (Geurnsey, Sam Worrell (Swin Sup), Simon King (Thurrock) Jamie Calvin (Daventry)
Step 5 – Conor Ingram (Ardley), Tom Franklin, Ben & Chris Weedon (all Kidlington), Nathan Silver (Reading tn), Andrew Younie, Eddie Cavanagh (Ab Utd), Conor McDonagh, Dan West, Matt Willetts, Niall hodgkinns (all Thame), Lewis Alderman (Andover), Calvin Ekpiteta (Fisher Ath)
Others – Jermaine Udamaga (Brentford Devs), Ricky Louch (Grays U21s), John Rixon, George Morris, Darryl Harris, Rhys Denton (all Ox City Nomads), Adam Bowerman (Carterton) Jack Dunmall, Aaron Posey (Old Woodstock)Conor Robbins, Conor Barrett, Josh lathey, Jacob Hughes (North Leigh Utd)

So, in a parallel universe where we can only pick players we've produced, our current squad (going down to say Step2) would look like:
GK - Crocombe, Hill
DEF - Ricketts, Long, Clarke, (Eddie Anaclet, M Ekpiteta) {F Grant, Cundy}
MID - Whitehead, Ashby, Mulvany, (Benjamin, Deering) {George}
WIDE - Hackett, COD, Humphreys (Winters, Eric Odhiambo) {Hawtin}
FW - Blackstock, C Davies, Roberts, Fisher (Marsh) {Shama}

I wonder whether they could hold their own in League Two?

Doesn't that just show how difficult it is to make it in league football. Think how many other youngsters who were going to be 'the next big thing' and were the best player in their school didn't even make it into the official youth team.
