Does anyone else find it rather depressing how few of our players go into better things?

If you swap "rather depressing" for "utterly predictable" then you mirror my thoughts exactly!

I saw Payne have a superb game for Woking at Kenilworth Road recently when he ran the game.
Looked every inch a class midfielder> I still think he could have a bright future in the game.

PS: United had Chelsea youngster Liam Bridcutt on trial in the summer of 2010
but CW went for Josh Payne instead. Bridcutt, after a successful time at Brighton, is now
playing for Sunderland.

Morgan and JPP dumped by Wycombe. Perhaps they could do a job for City?

Dave talks about his career to the Scotland Herald, including this gem.

This time he promises not to forget his guests. At the 2003 final - his first, when he was 22 - he forgot to collect his complimentary tickets at Hampden. Without them, his friends and family could not get in. Only when he was doing the pre-match warm-up did the penny drop.

"That was the only stupid thing I remember doing from the 2003 final." he added. "I was looking for them in the crowd and then remembered the tickets hadn't been handed out! I'll make sure the tickets are handed out well before this one."

From the Torquay Herald, Chris Hargreaves is interested in Jack Midson and Deane Smalley, having already offered Lee Mansell a new contract.
