Oxford United (Gambia)

of the Gambian Gunjur knock-out competition
I know we've heard about the Irish Oxford United stars team before, but has this Gambian team ever been mentioned?

Wow - I feel that a Raging Fever tour to Gambia should be arranged.

Obviously unrelated to our own OUFC, as apparently they won a penalty shootout...

I take it none of you have bought (or at least read) Oxford United: Miscellany.

Perhaps you should?

He's Alive!!!!

Consdering they only lost the final on penalties two years ago, a QF is the least to be expected.

knocked out on penalties
Commit FC progressed to the semifinal following their 4-3 post-match penalty shootout win over Oxford United FC in the first quarterfinal game following a 1-1draw at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field on Friday.

Anyone know of any other Oxford Uniteds around the world? I know of one in Northern Ireland and I had it in my mind that there was one in Hong Kong but can't find any mention on the internet. Any others?

Not a football club, but during the Pakistan match fixing scandal, one of the players was pictured playing against St Lukes Cricket Club, who happen to have a very &quotsimilar&quot badge to ours.

I don't think it was ever resolved as to why.

There is a thread entitled &quotEvening Standard Mohammad Amir&quot that covers this but reaches no conclusion.

I suppose an email to info@stlukescricketclub.co.uk may throw some light on the subject.

What's going on? I thought we were knocked out? Or has a league fixture replay affected the cup date?
The OUFC manager's comments have a familiar ring to them though.

Tuesday, April 03, 2012
The Gunjur Nawettan final has to be rescheduled on Saturday after the game between Gamcel FC and Oxford United played at the community’s playing ground failed to produce a winner. The final will now be replayed in full on Easter Monday, the 9th of April 2012.

Speaking to journalist shortly after the game, the coach of Gamcel FC, Kakai Bojang said: “I cannot afford to lose two trophies in a season, my team will have to win in the replay.
