Pulling out all the stops....

Post by OUFC4eva »

I hope OUFC in association with Stad Co.
are doing all they can to get the Boxing Day match on...

I never thought in a million years that my post would prove to be so prophetic.

As someone who travels up from Southampton to see the Yellows, is there any news locally on whether the Boxing Day game is likely to be on? I had assumed it was likely but having driven through Oxford on Monday and meeting a snow storm I'm not so confident now!

Should I be bringing my shovel up the A34 just in case on Boxing Day morning?!

Don't hunt me down like a dog if I'm wrong but I would be prepared to stake a not inconsiderable amount of money that the game will be on. The forecast is for rain and balmier conditions.

Hopefully so. Is it wrong that I will probably mope about on Boxing Day claiming the whole of Xmas is ruined if the game is off?

I think that's pretty reasonable really!

Well the rain has arrived - and some, I wouldn't worry about the pitch being frozen now. Waterlogged quite possibly but not frozen.

Forecast in Oxford from now until 3:00pm on Saturday is consistantly above freezing. With 7 degrees and showers for the game. No chance of it being off due to weather conditions.

Pavements getting less treacherous by the hour. Game on - it seems such a long time since we saw any footie.

Pitch inspection at 11.30am.

Given that the Kassam has seen games frozen off when everything else in the country has gone ahead, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a postponement. I sincerely hope I'm wrong. In fact, I'd be absolutely gutted.

They need one of those giant mirrors to reflect the light onto the South Stand Shaddow. Too expensive for us I suppose. However, it will also be very expensive if the club has to re-arange this fixture.

hopefully just a precaution.

i'm unimpressed to find out two new wycombe fans have moved in down my parents' road, so am sat here in my oxford shirt and raring to get back to god's chosen city for the game...

If it does not happen that's a lot of £'s the club are going to lose out on. Just one area of the pitch that refuses to stop being frozen.

Apparently the youth team are you running around on it to try to get it to unfreeze.

Can't we just pour hot water from the kettles on it???

Out of interest. who employs the groundsman? Kassam or OUFC. After all, it's not our pitch to look after is it?

Sat in Headington, I can't believe the game has been called off.

Everything should have been done to ensure it was on.

Crap!
