Wouldn't it be fun to speculate?

As the poll says, it is "Who should we get?""Roo" wrote:Is this who should we get...or who will we get? I guess that they are two very different things!
After a few votes have been cast, I was going to put up a "Who will we get?" poll.

Hopefully comments like "We need someone who has experience at non-league level, or getting out of the non-league level," from Thomas indicate that we're not going to do anything as stupid as offering Mickey or Gilly, or Mike Ford or some other unqualified oldboy the job which I agree would be a step in the wrong direction.
That quote's from http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 759440.stm incase y'all haven't seen the story.
The prospect of most of these named contenders depresses me in equal measure.

None of the above for me. There are two I'd be very happy to see at Oxford, first choice being Lee Sinnott, who was outrageously successful at non-league level (although I will concede that he blotted his copybook somewhat at Port Vale), and the second being Alex Inglethorpe who laid the foundations of a successful side at Exeter (although whether he could be persuaded from his cushy job at Totnum remains to be seen).
Steve Cotterill might be another but do we have the clout to appeal to him anymore?
I don't like any of those named on the list.

A quick glance at the odds and a search into their backgrounds revealed boht of these two as interesting options to me also. Both have strong youth tendancies, which obviously appeals to me, and both are young but have some experience and success at this level."Shoobedoo" wrote:None of the above for me. Sinnott maybe jumped too high too quickly, but rumours of a faction in the board undermining his efforts, may explain some of the disappointment there, but who knows.
Inglethorpe clearly did a job at Exeter (perhaps one of the more comparable conference clubs to us) although opted to move to coach at Spurs so may not be ready to risk that to come here.
