For those thinking of attending this match and maybe staying up in Scotland, beware that there is a major Orange Order march planned for the Saturday, with anticipated potential violence between the protestant and catholic communities.

Good to know, should be an added attraction for some of our nutters.

I live in Glasgow, from experience I really wouldn't be worried about this, unless you're a nutter who goes looking for trouble you'd be extraordinarily unlucky to get caught up in anything to do with it.

I turned up 20 minutes late (which is foolish for a pre-season as usually only the first half has even vague interest). Meant I got escorted into the away end by a steward though which is a first.

Rangers looked a lot better than us though, as you'd expect for a team with their budget and I think if they could have been bothered they'd have made it very embarrassing for us.

This was obvious anyway, but the game made it clear we need a central striker, especially as Mackie is made of glass. Whyte looked ok but it's not his best position and 2nd half Napa tried hard but he is no centre forward either. And it's slightly worrying that our first choice left sided centre half (Mousinho) is actually a midfielder who the manager was encouraging to retire.

A centre back pairing of Dickie and Mousinho would be very worrying for any length of time.

It's crystal clear that KR knows he needs at least one first-choice centre back.
