Is it me, or is John Mousinho utter crap? In somuch as he’s good for at least one goal against us each game.

He is certainly not living up to his record before joining us.

He is definitely not worth a place in the team.

When he first came into the team, i thought he looked much better than he does now. It cannot be laid at the door of having to cover for a weak/dodgy centre-back partner because his performances have gone downhill over a period of time with different partners, and too often they are individual errors he is making.

I find it hard to explain how players can go backwards. That said, I always remember how Paul Moody's performances dropped right off at one point - and it was only some time later that we were told that he had serious family issues (was a baby seriously ill??)

Can being made captain have such an impact? Or is my devil's advocacy being too generous?

I really want him to be good as he seems such an intelligent, nice and impressive character. He’s been bad but then so have so many of them. What’s happened to Ruffels for example? Playing in such a poor and unfit team , possibly with conflicting or unclear instructions, has destroyed their confidence.

I'm more worried about the Man City loanees. What do they contribute? Is the full back a specialist? Is the winger a winger?

Agree - these two loanees are not doing it.

Is it me or are there startling similarities to what happened to United in Feb/March 2006?

Months of protracted take over speculation, a struggling team during that winter, poor loanees and terrible signings
i.e Neville Roach, Tim Sills, Andy Burgess and Yemi (to a lesser extent) and ultimately a sleep walk to
relegation. I hope I am wrong - we should be good enough to amass the 10-11 points we need but it could be a
very uncomfortable end to the season.

We must get a settled back four and work with it - we are conceding for fun. I really thought Faz
would at least make us solid at the back!

2006... at least what we’d be staring at is ledge for our sh-t to land on, and not an indian railway style hole straight down onto the tracks, which is what relegation out of the league was like.

I'm not so sure. We went down in 2006 because we sold our three best players in the January transfer window. This time we held on to our 'stars' despite plenty of interest from elsewhere.

There are more similarities with 2013-14 for me. A manager leaving despite decent league position for reasons that aren't entirely clear, and fans inexplicably jubilant about it. A chairman looking to offload the club leaving the coach in charge for too long while results deteriorate.

The question is, who will be the new Gary Waddock? This time they'll need to be a bit better than the old one or there might be trouble. Although, as RM says, we do at least have the safety net of League Two before the full horrors of 2006 can play out again.

I don't think anyone is laying it at Mousinho's door. We'd all love him to get back to how he played for Burton. But it ain't happening, and he is clearly one of several big problems in the side.

Mousinho was fine alongside Nelson, who had sufficient natural pace to deal with opposition threats. What's been shown up since Nelson's injury is that none of our other fit defenders at the time (Mousinho, Martin, Williamson) could deal with quick strikers. Mousinho has been particularly shown up in that regard, although I agree that he's also clearly lost his confidence for some reason or another and needs a breather to deal with whatever is the root cause of that.

All of which make even more incomprehensible and indefensible the decision to let Raglan go out on loan. Even coming back from a long layoff, he's still a better option than what we've got. Likewise, Dickie being made to wait until last night for a debut was bizarre. Can anyone who went comment on his performance?

The biggest frustration must be that our inability to hold onto a lead at home has cost us dearly. If we'd won the games against Bury and Brizzle Roverzz, and hadn't gone from 3-1 to 3-3 when we played Rotherham at home, we'd be eight points better off by now and on the cusp of safety. I still think we'll be okay (albeit two-thirds of the way down the table), but that buffer would settle a few nerves right now.

To be fair, we've also won quite a few games with very late goals

Just seen the goals from the Rotherham game. Smith-Brown gave their players far too much time and space for their first two goals, having come inside too far, and was turned inside out by their player before he went on to score. Not good.
