If anyone has the time/inclination, could they do a summary? I can't face reading a 20 page thread on yellowsforum.....

I don't really understand how the speculation could seriously affect the players, but something certainly is. On Saturday they had no urgency at all, and looked to have accepted defeat for the whole of the second half. We need muscle, pace, and leadership!

You should probably read Myles' opening post on that thread. No-one else seems to know anything else, and the rest of the thread descends very quickly into name-calling.

If, as is rumoured, a key associate of Thaksin Shinawatra is about to take over our club, then I feel pretty uneasy about that.

Takeover or an injection of cash. I would also be interested in why OxVox are still pursuing a deal with Kassam on the stadium when it seems blatantly obvious that it will never happen and they are just acting as a shield for Kassam to dealing with Eales.

I've read the first post on that thread and while it's informative to a point (and pretty damning) it's difficult to know much until more facts emerge over what is involved with the takeover/cash injection. After all the sartori nonsense last season it seems there are fewer leakages this time.

As for Oxvox and the stadium, it's been clear for years that however hard they try, the only thing that will encourage Kassam sell is a huge wodge of cash. Weren't Heads of Terms supposed to be agreed by now

You think Eales is trying to deal with Kassam and buy the ground for OUFC? Really?

I'm a big fan of Eales' tenure as chairman of OUFC but it's pretty clear that the only deal he's trying to do now is the one getting him the best price for his initial investment, not one which involves him sinking millions more into a half-finished football ground.

Also, OxVox have made it pretty clear they're not pursuing any kind of ground deal while the club is for sale (which it clearly is). And indeed Eales has previously said he welcomes OxVox's attempts to get the ground situation sorted as he had reached an impasse with FK. So I'm not really sure what your point is...

Of course he isn't now but I seem to recall that when OxVox announced they were going to start talking to Kassam about it and they were looking to agree a heads of terms in quite a few months, the toys came out the pram somewhat and Eales quite rightly pointed out that this was way too long. The distinct impression that I got that the intervention by OxVox wasn't helpful and instead of putting pressure on Kassam to sell up to Eales they wasted months and gave Kassam an excuse not to sell to Eales because he wanted it to stay in the community (yeah right). Things started to go off the boil ever since then.

If Eales has felt he has taken us as far as he can and is selling up a large part of this I believe would be because of the inability to get hold of the stadium and maximise revenues. Kassam is a disgrace for continuing to hold onto it especially given the money he has made from his involvement with OUFC.

He has been an excellent chairman and if he is leaving and selling up the people identified on the other site it is worrying times.

I see on the dark side that questions have been asked about Oxvox in relation to the suspected takeover but nothing has been forthcoming. I wonder what enquiries they have made and what they think? And why they're so quiet? And no, I'm not a member!

I suspect that Oxvox having been introduced to the Sartori bid at an early stage and commenting publicly before I think Eales had even met Sartori, this time they are being more careful about what they say. It seems Eales blamed the public nature of that bid as perhaps part of the reason it broke down - I think he'd said that he got several similar initial levels of interest over the years, yet this was the only one made quite so public, perhaps not helped by a teenager posting as Oxbible and his "sources" saying a deal was done.

At the end of the day, it is up to Eales who he sells to, and if Oxvox have serious concerns about the takeover and the futures of club, they need to say so, but until a takeover consortium formally announce their bid or a takeover happends, there isn't much to say. One thing I don't know is the difference between Premier League and Football League ownership rules which are apparently stricter in EPL?
