This is an interesting Division IV table showing zero points. Just goes to show that things can change when a sugar Daddy and a decent management structure come together.

And where were we then? No don't remind me!

Of that table a few clubs have gone bust since and quite a few have tasted non-league since as well.

Exactly. Of 24 teams, only three are playing above Division 3, with 7 now out of the Football League, and Luton only just having returned. I guess this shows where the odds are stacked.

Sugar daddies are too unreliable to bank on (Leeds? Pompey? Notts County even, with Munto? And then there was Darlington?!). Good management clearly matters. But getting the two together is a rare thing indeed (yes, I know, Bristol City fall into that category as well...).

Just shows what a good job that manager who took over shortly after did to take us to the play offs that season (well would have done apart from a admin cock up).

And I take comfort from the fact that only three of those clubs finished above us this season.

It's also interesting to see the fate of several of the village teams like Histon, Kettering, Rushden, Weymouth, Salisbury, Northwich, Grays, Lewes. All either folded or gone into administration / playing at much lower levels.

On the flip side then take at look at who finished in 8th place in the Division below Conference National in that year, and where they are now.

Ooh, Wilder in constantly chop-changing a team, bringing in loads of loanees, finishing just outside the play-offs, shock.

Only joking Ty.
